An Indian Army Lans Naik Subhash was martyred in an encounter with militants in Poonch.
The action against militants was reported from two places in Kupwada and Poonch on Tuesday.
The Lans Nayak hailed from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh.
The White Night Corps in a post on X said, the army repulsed the infiltrators in the Battal sector of Krishna Ghati near the Line of Control in Punch district.
The operation by the Indian Army and other wings of security forces has been continuing since the past nearly a fortnight.
Of late, the Indian forces have ramped up their search and flush operation in the entire Jammu belt with the increase in militant activities.
The home ministry has directed the security forces to make every possible effort to cleanse the area and name it safe.
