Rajendra Singh University Holds Grand 8th Convocation, Confers Degrees on Over 92,000 Students
Prayagraj: In a remarkable celebration of academic achievement and youthful promise, Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) State University, Prayagraj, hosted its 8th Convocation Ceremony, conferring degrees upon an astounding 92,109 students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses.
The grand event stood out not just for its scale but also for its message of excellence, empowerment, and service to society.
Degrees Awarded to 92,000+ Graduates
The convocation honoured:
- 52,037 undergraduates
- 21,312 postgraduates
- 18,760 professional course students
This large-scale conferral marked a momentous milestone for the university, underlining its role as one of the leading institutions shaping the academic landscape of Uttar Pradesh.
Medals of Honour for Excellence
A major highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of 187 meritorious students who distinguished themselves with exceptional academic performance. In total:
- 55 Gold Medals
- 65 Silver Medals
- 67 Bronze Medals
- 3 Donor Medals
Adding another feather to the university’s cap, female students claimed more than 125 medals, accounting for 67.71% of all honours—a powerful statement of women’s growing leadership in higher education.
Governor and Dignitaries Grace the Occasion
The ceremony was presided over by Governor Anandiben Patel, who also serves as Chancellor of the university. She distributed health kits for 300 Anganwadi centres, highlighting the university’s engagement with community health and child welfare initiatives.
The Chief Guest, Sanjay Shreenetra, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, delivered an inspiring address. He urged graduates to:

Governor Patel also honoured student achievers in sports who had won competitions held in schools, Anganwadi centres, and village-level events adopted by the university. She emphasised that encouraging young talent at the grassroots ensures that “this new generation will one day raise the pride of the country.”

Special Mentions of Merit
- Swati Singh of Pratapgarh, who scored an impressive 92.5% in M.A. Ancient History, was honoured with the Chancellor’s Gold Medal. Arriving late to the event, she was awarded after the ceremony.
- Devashish Prasad received the Ramlubhai Donor Gold Medal.
- Srishti Kumari was awarded the Shivdas Gulati Donor Gold Medal.
A commemorative souvenir (Smarika) was also released to mark the occasion.
Cultural Touch of Young Performers
Adding a vibrant dimension to the ceremony, children from a primary school adopted by the university performed an environmental awareness skit in front of the Governor. Their heartfelt performance earned them fruits and chocolates from the Vice Chancellor, bringing joy to the convocation gathering.
