Prayagraj witnessed a devastating road accident late Friday night when a Bolero vehicle carrying ten pilgrims collided head-on with a bus near Manu Ka Pura village in the Meja subdivision. The tragic mishap resulted in the immediate death of all ten occupants of the Bolero, while at least 20 bus passengers sustained injuries, some of them serious.

According to reports, the victims in the Bolero were pilgrims from Chhattisgarh, traveling to Prayagraj to take a holy dip at the Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh festival. It is believed that they had booked the private vehicle to reach their destination, unaware of the tragic fate that awaited them on the way.

Eyewitnesses and police sources indicate that the impact of the collision was extremely severe, leaving no chance of survival for anyone inside the Bolero. The force of the crash crumpled the four-wheeler, instantly killing its passengers.

The accident took place under the cover of darkness, amplifying the horror of the scene. The screams of the injured bus passengers pierced the silence of the night, drawing villagers from nearby areas to the accident site. Upon arrival, the locals did their best to help the injured, pulling them from the wreckage and providing first aid where possible.

Emergency services were alerted immediately, and soon, personnel from the Meja police station rushed to the scene. They coordinated efforts with the villagers to transport the injured to the nearest hospital for urgent medical attention.

Authorities reported that the collision left the Bolero in a completely mangled state, with little remaining of its original structure due to the force of the crash. Meanwhile, the bus, though heavily damaged, had multiple survivors, albeit with injuries ranging from minor bruises to serious fractures.

Senior police officials and district administration officers have taken cognizance of the accident and have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the mishap. Preliminary findings suggest that either overspeeding or a possible lapse in judgment by one of the drivers could have led to the tragic accident.

The loss of ten lives has sent shockwaves through their families and communities in Chhattisgarh. The ongoing Maha Kumbh festival attracts millions of pilgrims from across the country, making road safety a major concern during this time. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the need for strict enforcement of traffic regulations and the importance of road safety awareness.

As authorities continue their investigation, the focus remains on providing medical aid to the injured and extending support to the bereaved families. Further updates are expected as officials piece together the details of this tragic event.
