Florida storm wanes but wreaks havoc:

Strong persistent storm that rained around 20 inches in Florida appears to be on the wane now after wreaking havoc.

However, prospects of more heavy unprecedented rain still looms large.

Streets in Miami and Fort Lauderdale areas are still inundated, although water seems to be receding, says an AP report through officials.

A meteorologist Sammy Hadi said, “the heaviest rainfall has concluded”.

But climate change and intensity is increasing concern.

Florida Governor Ron De Santis held a media briefing in Hollywood said more rain was coming, it’s likely to be more typical of South Florida afternoon showers this time of year.

He said, the state has deployed about 100 pumps in addition to what cities and counties are using to try to clear water from streets. No deaths and serious injuries have been reported.

“We don’t think there’s going to be enough damage to necessarily qualify for a federal disaster declaration”, said the Governor.

But life is certainly out of gear here.
