Hapur Journalist Naseem Ahmed Beaten to Death After Dispute at Flour Mill

HAPUR, Uttar Pradesh: A dispute over an issue yet to be fully established turned fatal in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district on Sunday, claiming the life of 50-year-old journalist Naseem Ahmed, who was allegedly assaulted at a flour mill while seeking an advertisement for the Hindi newspaper he was associated with.

According to preliminary police information, Ahmed had visited the mill ahead of Diwali to approach its management for an advertisement.

He was accompanied by three other people, including two women, when an argument reportedly erupted over an unspecified matter.

The disagreement soon escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Ahmed was allegedly beaten severely.

The journalist later succumbed to his injuries. The exact sequence of events leading to the assault, the nature of the initial disagreement,t and the individual roles of those allegedly involved are yet to be established.

Murder Case Registered, Three Detained

Police have registered a murder case at Hapur Dehat police station against four people identified by name, along with several unidentified individuals. Investigators have detained three people for questioning as part of the ongoing inquiry.
