After issuing a slew of development-related orders following his party’s dismal performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls, CM Yogi Aditya Nath is in action mode.

The CM has taken five  Additional District Magistrates and three SDMs to task.

The CM found out that these highly placed officials had not only committed dereliction of their duties but were also found highly irresponsible in ensuring compensation to farmers whose crops had been affected either by floods or due to other reasons.

Five of the above officials have been directed to state their versions and adverse entry has been recorded in the service record of one officer.

Further action would follow against these officials in case they fail to give satisfactory replies to questions raised against them.

The Kanpur disaster professional specialist has been suspended.

Adverse entries have been recorded in the service books ADMs posted in Siddharth Nagar, Chitrakoot, and Banda districts.

Shadabad and Atrauli SDMs have been served with show-cause notices.

Sources in the government admit that the CM is very strict in implementing all the policies of the government and wants every official to deliver.

On his part, the CM keeps telling officers that he would not allow slackness in administrative work. Yet there are many officials who do not perform up to the desired level and they are the ones being punished.

Sources said these are only a few cases that have come to light and a watch is being maintained to take others to task.

Highly placed sources on condition of anonymity said, BJPs poor performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections has sent warning bells ringing among the top political leadership.

All policies of the government are implemented through the administrative officials sitting in top positions and the image of the government takes a beating when desired results are not achieved.

This in turn affects public opinion which translates into votes during elections.
