Whither are the congress and the Samajwadi party bound ?

At a time when even the present caretaker government in Bangladesh has admitted attacks on Hindus and their temples, prominent opposition leaders are silent.
Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Priyanka Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge appear to be unmoved. Their silence gives clear signal that their condemnation of the sequence of events in Bangladesh might upset their vote bank.
Channels, newspapers, portals are full of stories of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh but for most top opposition leaders it is still not the right time to give statements even on humanitarian grounds.
However, Shahsi Tharoor has proved to be the only prominent congressman who has spoken out his humanitarian heart.
Shashi Tharoor has said, “it is difficult for people in India to be indifferent when every symbol of the country’s friendship with Bangladesh is being attacked there. It is tragic to see what was hailed as a democratic revolution has degerated into anarchy, and violence targeting the minorities and the Hindu minority.
The destruction of the Indian cultural centre, several institutions and the ISKON temple are negative signs for the people in India.
