Tiger Shroff Firing Case: CCTV Footage Helps Police Arrest Three Suspects in Kota

Police investigating the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff have arrested three suspects in Rajasthan’s Kota, with CCTV footage from Surat railway station playing a key role in tracing their movements.

Shroff escaped injury when three men riding a motorcycle allegedly opened fire at him in Mumbai on Sunday evening. The actor was reportedly leaving a club in his car after playing football when the incident occurred.

Investigators believe the suspects travelled from Mumbai to Surat by road before boarding the Pune-Jaipur Express (train number 12939). They were subsequently intercepted at Kota railway station on Monday morning, allegedly while attempting to escape through Delhi towards Nepal.

Railway CCTV footage proves crucial

According to a Western Railway official, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) launched a coordinated operation after receiving information from Mumbai Police.

Surveillance recordings from several railway stations were examined, eventually helping investigators establish that the suspects had reached Surat and boarded the train.

A joint team of railway personnel and local police apprehended the three men at Kota at approximately 10.15 am on Monday, the official said.

Two CCTV recordings from Surat station reportedly captured the suspects hurrying towards their train. In one sequence, the three men can be seen moving quickly outside the station.

Another recording shows them making their way through a crowded platform, with two running ahead and the third following closely behind.

The footage provided investigators with important leads in a case that attracted considerable attention because of the celebrity involved.

Suspects detained aboard Pune-Jaipur Express

The three men were taken into custody from the general compartment of the Pune-Jaipur Express when it reached Kota.

The RPF’s Kota division had received an alert from the Mumbai Police Crime Branch about the presence of individuals suspected of involvement in the firing incident in Mumbai’s Juhu area.

Railway personnel and local police searched the train upon its arrival and detained the suspects before they could continue their journey. Preliminary findings indicated that the men had travelled by road from Mumbai to Surat and then boarded the express train.

The suspects have been identified as Rehan, also known as Sukka, 18, who is from Sonipat in Haryana; Ritwik Kurmi, alias Roshan Fighter, 22, reportedly from Bihar and currently living in Andheri West, Mumbai; and Phool Singh, 18.

Although initial reports suggested that the third suspect might be a minor, police subsequently clarified that all three men are adults.

Their alleged roles in the shooting are now part of the ongoing investigation.

Rapido responds to reports linking an accused to its platform

The case also drew attention to reports that one of the suspects had worked as a driver associated with app-based mobility platform Rapido.

In a statement, the company expressed concern over the incident involving Shroff and his team and said it was relieved that the actor was safe.

Rapido clarified that the individual mentioned in media reports had not been active as a captain on its platform since October 14.

The company added that workers in India’s gig economy frequently register with multiple service providers and that, on the day of the incident, the individual had used Rapido’s services as a customer.

The company said it was cooperating with law enforcement agencies and had promptly supplied the information investigators requested. It also reiterated that it had zero tolerance for violence and criminal activity.

Police are continuing their investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the firing, determine the suspects’ alleged involvement and examine the sequence of events leading up to the incident.
