Allahabad District Court lawyers on warpath following death of a colleague in a case of assault:

District Court lawyers are on warpath. Following the death of Akhilesh Shukla, a colleague in a assault case, they refrained from work on Saturday also.

The seriously injured lawyer succumbed to his injuries at PGI in Lucknow on Thursday.
Lawyers have demanded compensation of one crore to the family of the deceased, gun licence for the safety of the family, government job for his son, immediate arrest of rest of the remaining accused, blacklisting of the contractor, and transfer of officials shielding the contractor.
They have also demanded removal from membership of one of the accused from the post of block pramukh. He is block Pramukh from Gadwara in Ballia district.
After passing the proposals in a general house meeting the lawyers sent copies of the same to the Bar Council of India and Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court.
They also handed over a memorandum to the DM addressed to the CM UP Yogi Aditya Nath on Saturday.
The DBA secretary Dinesh Chandra Pandey on Saturday appealed to the lawyers to maintain calm.
On Friday, they condoled the death of their colleague by observing a two-minute silence.
The meeting was presided over by DBA President Rajendra Prasad Misra alias Rajju who said the DM and police Commissioner have failed to maintain law and order in the district.  The lawyers have warned to continue with their strike in case all their demands are not met within 48 hours.
The meeting was conducted by Dinesh Chandra Pandey, DBA Secretary.
