BOLLYWOOD REPORTER MET WITH SENIOR JOURNALIST-TRADE EXPERT SHARAD RAI TO KNOW HIS OPINION ON VIKRANT MASSEY’ DECISION

Trade Expert and Senior Journalist Sharad Rai reacted to Vikrant Massey’s announcement to retire from films at the age of 37.
I asked, ” What’s your opinion on the retirement-related announcement by Vikrant Massey?” Sharad Rai said, “As far as I know about the actor, he is an actor devoted to his job of acting, if he has announced retirement from acting then we should try to know the reason behind his decision.”
I asked Mayapuri fame Journalist Sharad Rai, ” That’s what we want to know, why he’s retiring from acting so early?” Sharad Rai says, ” There might be some emotional reason, he might not be happy with the box-office business of his recently released movie Ekta Kapoor’s Sabarmati Express, its reports aren’t good.”
Sharad Rai continued, ” Vikrant Massey is an actor with a clear and centered thought process. I appreciate his work ethic and look up to his body of work, he is an amazingly talented actor, and 12th Fail is a living example.”
I asked, “There are speculations, his announcement might be a PR activity, what’s your take?”
Sharad Rai says, ” No, Vikrant Massey isn’t such type of a guy, what he has announced, he meant it from the core of his heart.”
” You mean he will stick to his decision and will retire?” I asked.
” He will stick to his words. But many times decisions are governed by emotions and they may change.” Said Sharad Rai.
“Hope he gets back to his job of acting.” Sharad Rai is hopeful.
” Do you know any other similar incident ?” I asked.
Mayapuri fame Journalist Sharad Rai said,” Once a superstar took a similar decision, his decision was governed by emotions, then he was emotionally hurt by the people of the Industry, but after a long gap he came back, it’s believed that Megastar Salman Khan convinced him to return.”
However, the announcement came just before the release of Vikrant Massey’s film, Zero Se Restart, and has given reason to speculate, even though there is also buzz, he did all this to give a boost-up to his film Sabarmati Express. PM Modi took out time to watch Sabarmati Express, just after the announcement.
Vikrant Massey’s Haseen Dillruba co-star Harshvardhan Rane has also wondered if it is ‘PR activity’ and he told Bollywood Reporter, ” Vikrant Massey’s film Zero Se Restart is releasing, he might have done this just to kickstart his PR activity.”
For those who didn’t know the day before yesterday, Vikrant Massey took to his social media handle and announced his decision to retire from films.
His note read, “Hello, The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realize it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. The last 2 movies and many years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted!”
Fans, Filmgoers, and Industry insiders were shocked, Dia Mirza and Sanjay Gupta came out in support of Vikrant Massey.
