Horrifying: Man in Sitapur district brutally kills his five year old daughter
A horrifying crime in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, has sent shockwaves through the region after a man was arrested for allegedly murdering his five-year-old daughter in a fit of rage. The accused, Mohit Mishra, 40, reportedly choked his daughter, Tani, to death before mutilating her body and cutting it into four pieces. What makes the crime even more disturbing is the motive behind it—police revealed that Mohit was infuriated after the child continued to visit their neighbors despite his repeated warnings.
According to the police, the case came to light on February 25, when little Tani was reported missing from her home. Ironically, Mohit himself complained about missing persons to the authorities, attempting to divert suspicion from himself.
Speaking to the media, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Pravin Ranjan Singh stated that multiple teams were immediately deployed to investigate the disappearance. “We registered a case and formed four separate teams to search for the missing child. As the search progressed, we made a gruesome discovery—one part of her dismembered body was found. The next day, more parts were recovered. By this point, it was clear that she had been brutally murdered,” ASP Singh explained.
As the investigation intensified, the police began interrogating individuals who might have had information regarding the crime. One crucial detail that raised suspicion was Mohit’s sudden disappearance after filing the missing persons complaint. “During the search operation, Mohit handed his mobile phone over to his wife and went into hiding. This was a major red flag for us,” the police officer added.
The authorities then started questioning Mohit’s family members to gather more details about the events leading up to Tani’s disappearance. They inquired about any disputes or unusual behavior in the household. When Mohit eventually resurfaced, he was taken into custody for questioning. Under sustained interrogation, he finally broke down and confessed to committing the horrific crime. He admitted to killing his daughter and then disposing of her body in multiple locations to mislead the police.
Further investigation revealed that Mohit and his neighbor, Ramu, were once on good terms, and their families shared a close bond. They frequently visited each other’s homes, and the children, including Tani, would often play together. However, a dispute between the two families had recently soured their relationship, leading to a complete breakdown in communication. After the fallout, Mohit forbade Tani from visiting Ramu’s house, but the little girl, unaware of the gravity of the situation, continued to go there to play with her friends. This enraged Mohit, who saw it as an act of defiance, leading him to commit the unimaginable act of violence against his child.
ASP Singh commended the efforts of the police team, highlighting their perseverance in uncovering the gruesome crime. More than 100 individuals were questioned during the investigation, which ultimately led to the shocking revelation of the father’s involvement in the murder. The case has left the community in disbelief, as people struggle to comprehend how a father could commit such a brutal act against his flesh and blood.
The police have assured us that a thorough investigation will be conducted and that Mohit Mishra will face the full extent of the law for his heinous crime. Meanwhile, the tragic death of little Tani has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for the strictest possible punishment for the accused.
