Allahabad High Court Directs Prayagraj Police Commissioner to Appear with Missing Minor Girl on July 13

Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court has directed the Prayagraj Police Commissioner to personally appear before the court on July 13, 2026, along with a 14-year-old girl who has been missing for more than a year.

The order was passed by a Division Bench comprising Justice Salil Kumar Rai and Justice Swarupama Chaturvedi while hearing a petition concerning the disappearance of the minor.

During the proceedings, Additional Government Advocate Patanjali Mishra requested the court to grant the police an additional month to trace the missing girl and produce her before the bench.

The plea was made in view of the ongoing efforts to locate the child.

Representing the petitioner, advocate Ramesh Chandra Tiwari argued the matter before the court and urged authorities to intensify the search operation.

According to the case records, the girl, a resident of Bisauna village under Airport Police Station limits in Prayagraj, has been missing since April 3, 2025.

Her family lodged a First Information Report (FIR) on May 9, 2025, but despite the passage of considerable time, the police have not been able to trace her whereabouts.

The girl’s father subsequently approached the High Court, seeking judicial intervention and requesting directions to the authorities for the immediate recovery and production of his daughter.

Taking a serious view of the prolonged delay in the investigation, the court ordered that the missing girl must be produced before it by the next date of hearing under all circumstances.

The bench further instructed that the Prayagraj Police Commissioner should remain present in court along with the recovered girl on July 13, underscoring the judiciary’s concern over the lack of progress in the case.

The High Court’s directive places increased accountability on the police administration and highlights the urgency of locating the missing minor and ensuring her safe return to her family.
