Barabanki Horror: Father and Three Children Killed After Speeding Dumper Runs Over Family Sleeping Outside Home

Barabanki: A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district late Friday night claimed the lives of a father and his three children after a speeding dumper truck ran over the family while they were sleeping outside their home.

The incident took place in Jhansapurwa village on the Fatehpur-Bhagoli road under the Fatehpur police station area, leaving the entire village in shock and mourning.

According to police officials and residents, the victims were identified as Neeraj Chauhan and his three children.

His wife, who sustained critical injuries in the accident, was rushed to a private hospital in Lucknow, where she is currently undergoing treatment.

The dumper driver responsible for the accident has been arrested, and the vehicle has been seized by the police.

Residents said Neeraj Chauhan lived with his family in a small roadside room near the village.

On Friday night, the power supply in the area was disrupted around 10 pm, leaving residents struggling in intense heat and humidity.

Unable to sleep indoors due to the scorching weather and lack of electricity, Neeraj, his wife, and their children decided to sleep outside on the roadside near their home.

Hours later, a speeding dumper reportedly lost control and veered off the road, crushing the sleeping family.

The impact was so severe that Neeraj and all three children died on the spot. Hearing screams and loud noises, nearby villagers rushed to the scene and immediately informed the police and emergency services.

The injured woman was first taken to a nearby hospital but was later referred to Lucknow after her condition turned critical. Doctors are closely monitoring her condition.

The heartbreaking incident has triggered outrage and grief among villagers, many of whom alleged that heavy vehicles frequently pass through the area at high speed, posing a constant threat to residents.

Locals also questioned the lack of proper traffic regulation and safety measures on the route.

Police officials said a case has been registered against the dumper driver, and further legal action is underway.

Senior administrative officers also visited the village and assured the bereaved family of all possible assistance.

The incident once again highlights the dangers posed by reckless driving and the hardships faced by rural families during prolonged power outages and extreme summer temperatures.
