“Dhirendra Krishna Shastri Takes Holy Dip at Sangam, Offers Prayers at Bade Hanuman Temple During Hanumant Katha in Prayagraj”

Amid chants of devotion and a deeply spiritual atmosphere, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri on Wednesday immersed himself in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj — a moment that blended faith, tradition, and collective reverence.

As the echoes of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Jai Bajrang Bali” filled the air, Shastri took a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati. For devotees present there, it was not just a ritual but a deeply symbolic act — one that reflects purification, surrender, and spiritual renewal.

Following the sacred bathing in the traditional Sanatan manner, he performed the prayer of Maa Ganga.

Offering milk, naivedya, and prayers, he carried out the Ganga Aarti with devotion, as hundreds watched in silence and reverence.

The moment seemed to pause time — where ritual became reflection, and faith became a shared experience.

From the Sangam, Shastri proceeded to the revered Shri Bade Hanuman Temple, one of the most significant temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman.

There, under tight security arrangements, he offered prayers to Bajrang Bali. The rituals were conducted under the guidance of Mahant Balveer Giri, adding to the sanctity of the occasion.

He also visited the sacred Akshayavat — a symbol of immortality and spiritual continuity in Hindu belief — completing a spiritual circuit that holds immense significance for pilgrims visiting Prayagraj.

This visit forms part of the ongoing three-day Hanumant Katha being held in the Arail area along the Sangam banks.

On its second day, the event saw not only thousands of devotees but also the presence of prominent political and spiritual figures, including Keshav Prasad Maurya, Raghuraj Pratap Singh, Chidanand Saraswati, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Manoj Tiwari, and actor Puneet Issar.

During the discourse, Shastri brought alive episodes from the Ramayana, particularly the scenes of Ashok Vatika and Ravan’s court. But beyond narration, his message carried guidance for everyday life.

He urged the youth to simplify life by removing negativity. “When you eliminate the unnecessary, meaning automatically emerges,” he said.

He advised young people and students to stay away from gossip, negative influences, and immoral distractions, emphasising that character and discipline are the foundation of a meaningful life.

He spoke about the importance of satsang — the company of good people — and warned against the quiet damage caused by toxic associations. “Just as mud dirties whatever touches it, bad company slowly erodes your life,” he reflected.

On the subject of pilgrimage, he offered a broader perspective. Visiting a holy place, he said, should not be limited to ritual bathing.

It should involve gyan (knowledge), daan (giving), and manan (reflection). Importantly, he added that charity is not just about money — letting go of wrong thoughts and harmful habits is also a form of daan.

He also spoke about the spiritual richness of Prayagraj, highlighting the unique tradition of its pandas (priests), who preserve genealogical records spanning generations.

For many, he said, this connection offers not just history, but a sense of belonging and continuity.

The discourse further touched upon the spiritual significance of the twelve Madhav temples, the divine presence of Bade Hanuman Ji, and the eternal symbolism of Akshayavat — all of which make Prayagraj a deeply sacred space in Sanatan tradition.

As the sun set over the Sangam, the day’s events left behind not just rituals performed, but thoughts to carry forward — about faith, discipline, unity, and the quiet strength that comes from living a life rooted in values.
