Is it possible that Justice Yashwant Varma of the Delhi High Court would keep wads of currency notes in a room detached from his residence while the same is accessible to all and sundry ?

For the sake of justice and fair play, it would be prudent to initiate a CBI inquiry to uncover the truth behind the burning currency notes discovered in one of the rooms at the official bungalow of Justice Yashwant Varma. A thorough investigation is essential to dispel doubts surrounding this incident and ensure that all perspectives are considered before concluding.
Suppose it is established that the room where the burning currency was found was not in use by Justice Varma or his family. In that case, it raises serious questions about the authenticity of the narrative being circulated on various platforms. Could it be that the cash was deliberately placed in the room by someone seeking to frame the judge in a carefully orchestrated move? This possibility demands a meticulous and impartial probe by the CBI or another competent investigative agency.
Justice Varma, in a letter to the Chief Justice of India, has clarified that the room in question is not part of his living quarters. He asserts that the fire occurred in a section of the bungalow that is separated from the main residence by a boundary wall. The room reportedly used for storing discarded household items, was accessible to all and was left unlocked. Additionally, some articles belonging to the CPWD were also said to have been kept there.
If these facts are accurate, the entire episode appears dubious. Justice Varma is seemingly being judged guilty in the court of public opinion without being given a fair opportunity to defend himself. Even if the circulating video is authentic, it does not conclusively establish his involvement in the matter.
Justice Varma’s assertion that the fire broke out in a section not within his residential premises raises another pertinent question: why would he store a substantial amount of cash in an unlocked, easily accessible room detached from his main residence? If indeed the money belonged to him, it is implausible that he would place it in such a vulnerable location.
Given these circumstances, a detailed interrogation of all individuals with access to the room is imperative. A skilled team of investigators could potentially unearth crucial facts regarding how the cash ended up there. Someone must have placed it, and a thorough probe could determine whether it was at the behest of Justice Varma or if it was a deliberate attempt to implicate him.
Justice Varma hails from a distinguished family of eminent lawyers, known for their legal acumen and financial stability. Some members of the legal fraternity, speaking anonymously, affirm that he had an illustrious career as a lawyer with a thriving practice before his elevation to the bench. Additionally, he owns a bungalow in the heart of Civil Lines, Allahabad, further supporting the argument that he had no apparent financial compulsions to hoard cash in such an unusual manner.
The notion that a judge of Justice Varma’s stature would stash bundles of currency in an unsecured, detached room defies logic. These inconsistencies further strengthen the argument for a fair and independent investigation.
At present, a three-member panel of judges is probing the matter, which has captured the attention of the entire nation. The credibility of the judiciary is at stake, and the investigation must be conducted transparently to uphold public confidence in the legal system. As the inquiry unfolds, we must await its findings to ascertain the truth behind this intriguing episode.
