An executive Engineer of Jal Nigam department Santosh Kumar was bludgeoned to death by his junior colleague and another person in sultanpur district in UP.
The officer’s brother Sanjay Kumar lodged named complaint against Amit Kumar serving as assistant engineer in the same department.
Police have formed four teams to track down the accused officer who escaped to an unknown destination after committing the murder.
According to the police differences between the victim and the accused over payments to workers and others in the Jal Jeevan Mission was the cause behind this murder.
The victim had been living alone in a rented house in Vinobapuri locality.
According to Santosh Kumar brother of the victim the accused beat him to death saturday morning.
The victims driver had gone to the market before the murder. When the driver came back he was dragged inside the room by both the accused and was threatened with dire consequences in case he reported the incident or told any person about it.
After this the accused taped the mouth of the victim and strangled him to death.
The driver screamed in fear after both the accused left the house. The victim was rushed to hospital but was declared brought dead.
The victim’s brother had talked to him last on August 15. The victim during conversation had told his brother that he has blacklisted a firm working for the department and he had also prepared a chargesheet running into 250 pages.
He had also written a letter to superiors for the removal of the assistant engineer. The murder, it is being suspected, was carried out because of an enquiry against the firm and also payments that were reportedly stopped.
The victim in his letter of complaint against the accused had written that the latter was in the habit of misbehaving and talking rudely. Charges of misconduct and insubordination had also been levelled against him.
