Taking cue from uttar Pradesh the Pune municipal authority bulldozed more than a dozen pubs that had been operating illegally.
It was at one of these pubs where the teenager, son of a powerful builder got drunk and drove his Porsche car to such high speed that saw a horrible accident in which two young men both engineers were killed.
Such powerful was the impact that their mobike was reportedly tossed 20 feet in the air.
Following his arrest the teenager reportedly said, he was a habitual drinker.
Sonali Tanpure wife of Nationalist Congress Party MLA and former Maharashtra minister Prajakt Tanpure has written on X that the juvenile involved in the accident had bullied her son with other boys in the past. Both were classmates.
She had complained to the parents herself but her complaint was brushed aside.
Eventually, she shifted her son to another school as he had suffered a lot mentally.
Had the parents taken steps against their sons this tragedy probably could have been avoided, she wrote.
Meanwhile, in a repeat of the Pune tragedy, a fifteen year old boy driving rashly hit four persons at Kanpur.
This lad had killed two persons with his car last year.
Son of a prominent doctor of Kanpur, the boys father is reportedly being held responsible for the accident.
