Three Killed, Including Young Girl, After Scorpio SUV Collides with Tractor on Ganga Expressway

A tragic road accident on the Ganga Expressway in Prayagraj claimed the lives of three people, including a young girl, after a Scorpio SUV collided with a tractor late Monday night. Several others travelling in the vehicle were seriously injured in the crash.

According to reports, the family was travelling from Delhi to Jaunpur when the accident took place near the expressway stretch in Prayagraj.

The collision was so severe that the Scorpio was badly damaged, causing panic among nearby commuters and locals.

Police said the incident occurred around 10:45 PM near the Karchana area while the vehicle was heading towards Jaunpur.

Soon after receiving information, local police and emergency teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby community health centre for immediate treatment.

The deceased included an 11-year-old girl named Sangeeta, along with two other family members.

Doctors and medical staff made efforts to save the injured victims, but three people succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

The family reportedly belongs to the Sujanganj area of Jaunpur district. Rajendra Singh, who works in Delhi, was travelling home with relatives to attend a family function when the accident occurred.

Around eight members of the family were said to be travelling together in the Scorpio vehicle.

Several injured passengers remain under medical care. Authorities stated that some victims sustained serious injuries and were later referred to higher medical facilities for advanced treatment.

Police officials have begun an investigation into the accident and are examining the circumstances that led to the collision.

Initial reports suggest that poor visibility and high-speed movement on the expressway may have contributed to the crash, though the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.

The tragic incident has left the family and local community in deep shock, once again raising concerns about road safety and night-time driving on high-speed expressways.
