UP Youth Allegedly Duped by Agent, Sent to Herd Goats in Saudi Arabia Instead of Electrician Job

Prayagraj: Hoping for a stable job and a better future, a young man from the Yamunanagar area of Prayagraj travelled to Saudi Arabia with dreams of working as an electrician.

But soon after arriving there, his hopes reportedly turned into shock and despair when he was allegedly forced into goat herding instead of the promised technical job.

The family has now accused a local agent of orchestrating a planned fraud and has appealed to the police and administration for strict action as well as the safe return of the youth to India.

The victim, Mohammad Ajmal, is a resident of Ubhari village under Karchhana tehsil.

According to the family, a man identified as Mohammad Jameel from Chak Ghanshyam Das in Nai Bazaar village had assured Ajmal of an electrician’s job in Saudi Arabia.

Family members alleged that the agent collected nearly Rs 1.5 lakh in the name of arranging a visa and employment abroad.

Trusting the promises made to him, Ajmal left for Saudi Arabia on April 26, 2026.

However, according to Ajmal, the reality turned out to be completely different after he landed there. Instead of being assigned technical work in a company, he was allegedly sent to graze goats.

Ajmal claimed that when he protested and questioned the employer, he was told that his visa had actually been issued for shepherd work and that he would now have to do that job only.

The revelation reportedly left him devastated and feeling cheated.

The young man later informed his family about the situation over phone calls. His relatives alleged that when they approached the agent seeking help, he not only refused to take responsibility but also misbehaved with them and used abusive language.

The family has now submitted a written complaint to the Karma police outpost, demanding justice in the matter.

They have urged the administration to ensure Ajmal’s safe return to India and take strict legal action against the accused agent for allegedly duping him in the name of overseas employment.
