No Namaz On Streets And Sacrifice At Undesignated Spots’: UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s Order Ahead Of Bakri Eid

Lucknow: In view of the upcoming Bakri Eid,  Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued an order forbidding the offering of Namaz on streets and banning animal sacrifice at undesignated places. He also said that action will be taken if someone is found slaughtering animals forbidden to be offered in sacrificial rituals.
“The spot for sacrifice on Bakrid should be marked in advance. There should be no sacrifice at other spots. The sacrifice should not be made at disputed or sensitive places. Officials should ensure that banned animals are not sacrificed. A systematic action plan for the disposal of waste after sacrifice should be launched in all districts,” Yogi Adityanath was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also instructed administration officials and the police to prevent any untoward incident that could hurt religious sentiments.
Yogi Adityanath asked the police to be alert and maintain a strong grip on the law & order in the state during the upcoming festive month. While Hindus will celebrate Ganga Dussehra on June 16, Muslims will celebrate Bakri Eid on June 17. Later, Hindu devotees will embark on the Kanwar Yatra on July 22.
Yogi Adityanath said the facilities for devotees must be kept ready. The Chief Minister also reviewed the preparations for the festivals. CM Yogi Adityanath also pointed out that the ‘Bada Mangal’ festival will be celebrated on June 18 followed by the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21. Events like Muharram (July 17) and Kanwar Yatra will follow in July. This period is very sensitive from the point of view of law and order. The government and administration need to be in active mode 24×7.
Bakri Eid Orders: The UP government has ordered the place for sacrifice on Bakr-Eid be marked in advance. Sacrifice should not be done at disputed or sensitive sites. In any case, it must be ensured that no animal that is forbidden for slaughter is sacrificed anywhere. Every district should have a systematic action plan for the disposal of waste after sacrifice.
The order also said that Namaz should be offered at designated sites only as per prevailing traditions. Namaz should not be offered by blocking roads. It said faith has to be respected, but no new tradition must be encouraged. If anyone tries to take the law into his own hands, then strict action should be taken against him.
Ganga Dussehra Orders: CM Yogi said in the meeting that a cleanliness drive should be run in the state from June 15 to 22. Ahead of the Ganga Dussehra, the ghats of the Ganga river should be cleaned and decorated, the state government order read. Designated bathing areas will also be demarcated.
For safety, divers, Pradeshik Armed Constabulary’s flood unit and NDRF and SDRF will be deployed. CM Yogi said that unnecessary power cuts must be avoided.
