Blast at Ghaziabad Police Outpost Raises Security Concerns; Agencies Probe Possible Sabotage Angle
GHAZIABAD: An explosion powerful enough to crack the rear wall of a police outpost is an incident that demands the utmost seriousness.
Beyond the physical damage, the blast at the Vasundhara police outpost has raised an urgent question: who possessed the audacity to carry out an explosion at a police facility, and what was the intention behind it?
The incident occurred at approximately 9 pm on Friday, when an explosion struck the rear portion of the outpost. The impact damaged the wall and shattered windowpanes.
A food delivery worker, who was present nearby, suffered minor injuries after fragments of glass struck his head. A sub-inspector was also inside the premises at the time, but no other injuries were reported.
Police teams and specialised agencies returned to the site on Saturday to examine the damaged structure and collect evidence.
The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), bomb disposal personnel and forensic experts were among those involved in the investigation.
Officials are attempting to determine the nature of the explosive material, the source of the blast and whether the police facility was deliberately targeted.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Rijul, who oversees the Trans-Hindon zone, said the injured delivery worker, aged around 20, was taken to hospital for treatment.
The precise cause of the explosion remains unknown. An initial assessment suggested that it might have originated near the air-conditioning unit, but investigators have not concluded. No fire broke out following the blast.
Ghaziabad Commissioner of Police J Ravinder Goud said evidence had been collected from the location and that all relevant UP Police units had examined the site.
He said investigators were pursuing every possible angle and that the cause of the explosion had not yet been established.
The investigation has acquired an additional dimension after a social media account using the handle GHAZI 2 (@cuhmfu40pn60793) claimed responsibility for the blast and reportedly issued threats.
The authenticity of the claim, the identity of the account operator, and any possible connection with the explosion remain unverified.
Senior police officials have not publicly endorsed the claim or identified a motive.
The possibility of a deliberate attack cannot be dismissed until the forensic examination establishes what caused the explosion.
If evidence confirms that the outpost was intentionally targeted, identifying and arresting those responsible must become an immediate priority.
An individual capable of carrying out a blast at a police facility poses a serious threat not only to law enforcement personnel but also to public safety.
Such incidents must not be allowed to create an atmosphere in which individuals or networks sympathetic to anti-national or extremist causes feel emboldened to intimidate the public.

पास में मौजूद करीब 20 वर्षीय फूड डिलीवरी कर्मी के सिर पर कांच के टुकड़े लगे, जिससे वह मामूली रूप से घायल हो गया। पुलिस ने उसे उपचार के लिए अस्पताल पहुंचाया। घटना के बाद आग लगने की सूचना नहीं मिली।
धमाके की वजह और प्रकृति का पता लगाने के लिए शनिवार को कई विशेषज्ञ एजेंसियों ने घटनास्थल का निरीक्षण किया।
आतंकवाद निरोधक दस्ता (एटीएस), बम निरोधक इकाई और फॉरेंसिक टीमों ने मौके से साक्ष्य जुटाए। जांच का उद्देश्य यह पता लगाना है कि विस्फोट किस पदार्थ से हुआ, उसका स्रोत क्या था और क्या चौकी को जानबूझकर निशाना बनाया गया था।
