Allahabad High Court Takes Cognizance Of Rodent And Stray Dog Menace At SRN Hospital, Directs Chief Standing Counsel To Visit SRN hospital.

Taking a suo motu cognizance of rodent menace in Swaroop Rani Hospital (SRN), an associate hospital of Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, the Allahabad High Court on Thursday directed some state law officers to visit SRN and file a report.
During the course of the hearing, it was brought to the notice of the court that apart from rodent menace, the SRN wards are full of stray dogs and there is no control over the same.
Taking serious note of it, a division bench comprising Manoj Kumar Gupta and Justice Manish Kumar Nigam asked the additional chief standing counsel AK Goyal to visit SRN Hospital and inspect the hospital premises, including the wards. He will be assisted by Neeraj Kumar, standing counsel. “The medical superintendent of the hospital will provide full support to them. The station house officer (SHO) of the concerned police station will ensure that no hindrance is created by anyone during the inspection.
 The court directed them to submit a report within a week and directed them to list this case on August 21, 2024, as fresh for the next hearing.
Earlier, the court had taken suo motu cognizance of the rodent menace in SRN hospital, an associate hospital of Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, a state medical college. However, during the course  of the hearing, it was informed to the court that dog menace is also very much prevalent in the SRN, and have no control over them. Hence, the court passed the above-mentioned order.
