The release of Udai Bhan Karvaria, hailing from a well-known ‘hardened criminal’ family of Allahabad and Kaushambi has sent shockwaves not only in political circles but also among older residents of this city.
But there are many happy faces too —- “arey bhayya aa gaye”, Kafi din Jail mein rah liye…
Udai Bhan Karvaria, and his two brothers Kapil and Suraj Bhan were named accused in the sensational broad daylight killing of Jawahar Yadav alias Jawahar Pandit, a Samajwadi party leader and MLA
Only yesterday Yogi talked about zero tolerance vis-a-vis crime and corruption and then this sudden and
awe-inspiring political and executive action leaves right-minded people wondering as to what type of good governance this action of the BJP government portrays.
There has to be a very powerful lobby’s involvement in it constantly pushing for his release, feel political analysts.
The day is not far when Udai Bhans other two brothers Kapil Muni Karvaria and Suraj Bhan Karvaria –the two other ‘bhayyas’ who were declared murderers and criminals yesterday and booked will now get certificates of good character and released with honorable welcome by their well-wishers. All sorts of heinous crimes committed by them in the past will now become good because the government feels so.
One has come out of jail in the garb of a Valmiki and the other two brothers accused to riddling the body of Jawahar Pandit with dozens of bullets are waiting to be baptised as the 2nd and 3rd Valmiki.
Fir the first time in the history of Allahabad an AK 47 assault rifle displayed its might in public. Sources then had said, it appeared like a volley of bullets fired in warfare.
After all what purpose does this remission solve?
In this way society is going to benefit by the release of Udai Bhan Karwaria, the mafia turned BJP leader.
If this is because of his good actions during his captivity as is being widely said, then there are hundreds and thousands of good convicts languishing in different jails for more than a decade. Many of them even have no money to spend on lawyers to plead their case.
Word is going around in several circles that Udai Bhan has been released to counter Keshav Mauryas rebellion in the party, in particularly directed against UP CM Aditya Nath. Now it remains to be seen what role Udai Bhan going to play in politics and society after being convicted of a ghastly murder.
Has Maurya, still considered “chutbhaiyya neta” in nearly every circle of Allahabad and Kaushambi district has grown in size and stature so much that the party is seeing him as a potential danger in the days to come?
But this opinion does not hold much ground, feel opinion groups.
Has the party(BJP) gone so meek before a leader like Maurya who in his early days as VHP leader was tainted with allegations of earning a fast buck in the illegal livestock trade in connivance with police?
Senior residents and older journalists of Allahabad and Kaushambi claim Maurya was zero two decades ago. He used to request journalists with press notes to write whatever trash he used to jot down. Few journalists carried his press note statements while others dumped it in the dustbin.
Twenty years down the line this politician has built up an empire.
The BJP, it is felt is bearing up with him because of his OBC background.
Keshav Maurya had lost the election as Deputy Chief Minister last time in his home town Kaushambi from where he had won earlier. This is proof enough of his popularity.
