BMW hit and run accused confesses driving the car

The Worli, Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case in which a woman was killed is in the limelight.  The main accused Mihir Shah has reportedly admitted that he was driving the car that hit the woman and left her husband injured. His driver was also with him, as per reports.

 The couple were on a scooter when the accident occurred.

 According to reports the accused was well aware that the woman was stuck in one of the tires yet he continued driving despite other motorists signalled him to stop.

 After the accident, the accused shaved his beard and trimmed his hair to escape identity.

 The police had earlier booked Mihir’s father Rajesh Shah, a Shiv Sena politician. Police has recorded statements of fourteen persons in this case.

The accident had taken place on Dr Annie Besant road. The accused was reportedly drunk but well aware that he had caused the accident. However, he told police that he had no idea that the woman was stuck in one of the wheels. Twenty-three-year-old Mihir was drunk at the time of the accident. He had consumed a large amount of alcohol at a bar with friends.

 Earlier, the accused had gone out in his Mercedes car. From the bar, he decided to drop home three of his friends and came back to his residence.

After this he again decided to go out but this time in the BMW to the Marine Drive. He purchased beer from a shop and drank all along the way.
