CJP Opens Door for Talks as Protest Intensifies; Security Tightened Across Delhi Amid NEET Row
New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Wednesday expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue with the Centre but insisted that any meeting should take place at a neutral venue rather than at a government office or a minister’s residence.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the organisation had been approached for discussions and was prepared to participate immediately.
However, he maintained that the talks should either be held at Jantar Mantar, where the protest is underway, or at a mutually acceptable location such as the Constitution Club of India.
Referring to security concerns, Das said it might not be practical for Union ministers to visit the protest site.
Another CJP spokesperson, Ashutosh Ranka, confirmed that the organisation had received communication from the police regarding the proposed dialogue.
According to reports, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda is expected to meet a delegation of the protesting outfit.
In a parallel development, a group of Opposition Members of Parliament visited Medanta Hospital to persuade climate activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his ongoing hunger strike.
The CJP and its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, also appealed to Wangchuk to call off his fast, assuring him that the movement would continue until its demands are fulfilled.
Demonstrations at Jantar Mantar gathered further momentum during the day, with the CJP claiming that thousands of supporters had assembled at the venue.
Sharing visuals of the swelling crowd, party leaders asserted that public participation would increase substantially if the government failed to respond positively to their demands.
As the agitation gathered pace, the Ministry of Home Affairs ordered the deployment of 20 additional companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the national capital.
The reinforcements are being brought from West Bengal to strengthen security arrangements.
Security remained on high alert across central Delhi, particularly around Parliament House and Rafi Marg, where extensive barricading continued.
The CJP has been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination.
Meanwhile, police have registered six FIRs in connection with the violence and vandalism reported during Monday’s protest march.
Investigators are also examining whether a larger criminal conspiracy was involved.
Political reactions continued to escalate, with Congress units holding demonstrations in several states, including Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir and Assam, to protest against the police action on students and the detention of senior party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
On Tuesday, both leaders, along with other Congress members, staged a sit-in protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence.
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav was also detained during the demonstration.
Responding sharply to the Opposition’s protest, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan accused the Congress of using students for political purposes and attempting to disrupt the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament.
In a post on social media platform X, Pradhan alleged that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress ignored established security norms by staging a protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence, causing inconvenience to the public.
He maintained that the government had already expressed its readiness to discuss NEET in Parliament and accused the Opposition of preferring political confrontation to democratic debate.
Reiterating the Centre’s position, the minister said the government remained fully committed to addressing every genuine concern related to the NEET examination on the floor of the House.
He added that students deserved meaningful solutions rather than being drawn into political campaigns.

नई दिल्ली: कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (सीजेपी) ने बुधवार को केंद्र सरकार के साथ बातचीत के लिए अपनी सहमति जताई, लेकिन स्पष्ट किया कि वार्ता किसी सरकारी कार्यालय या मंत्री के आवास पर नहीं बल्कि किसी तटस्थ स्थान पर होनी चाहिए।
पार्टी के प्रवक्ता सौरव दास ने कहा कि सरकार की ओर से संवाद का प्रस्ताव मिला है और संगठन पहले दिन से ही बातचीत के लिए तैयार है।
उन्होंने कहा कि बैठक या तो जंतर-मंतर पर हो सकती है, जहां आंदोलन जारी है, अथवा संविधान क्लब ऑफ इंडिया जैसे किसी सर्वमान्य स्थान पर आयोजित की जा सकती है। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि सुरक्षा कारणों से केंद्रीय मंत्रियों का जंतर-मंतर आना व्यावहारिक नहीं हो सकता।
दूसरे प्रवक्ता आशीष (अशुतोष) रांका ने पुष्टि की कि पुलिस की ओर से बातचीत के संबंध में संपर्क किया गया है। सूत्रों के अनुसार, केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री जे.पी. नड्डा जल्द ही सीजेपी के प्रतिनिधिमंडल से मुलाकात कर सकते हैं।
इसी बीच विपक्षी सांसदों का एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल मेदांता अस्पताल पहुंचा और जलवायु कार्यकर्ता सोनम वांगचुक से आमरण अनशन समाप्त करने का आग्रह किया।
दूसरी ओर, सीजेपी और उसके संस्थापक अभिजीत डिपके ने भी वांगचुक से उपवास खत्म करने की अपील करते हुए भरोसा दिलाया कि संगठन की मांगें पूरी होने तक आंदोलन जारी रहेगा।
जंतर-मंतर पर चल रहे प्रदर्शन ने बुधवार को और व्यापक स्वरूप ले लिया। सीजेपी का दावा है कि हजारों प्रदर्शनकारी धरना स्थल पर जुट चुके हैं।
संगठन ने भीड़ के वीडियो और तस्वीरें साझा करते हुए कहा कि यदि सरकार ने उनकी मांगों पर सकारात्मक निर्णय नहीं लिया तो आने वाले दिनों में जनसमर्थन कई गुना बढ़ सकता है।
आंदोलन के विस्तार को देखते हुए केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (सीआरपीएफ) की 20 अतिरिक्त कंपनियों की तत्काल तैनाती के निर्देश दिए हैं। इन बलों को पश्चिम बंगाल से दिल्ली भेजा जा रहा है ताकि सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को और मजबूत किया जा सके।
राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के संवेदनशील इलाकों, विशेषकर संसद भवन और रफी मार्ग के आसपास सुरक्षा व्यवस्था अत्यंत कड़ी बनी हुई है। व्यापक बैरिकेडिंग के बीच सीजेपी का प्रदर्शन जारी है।
संगठन की प्रमुख मांग केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की है, जिसे उसने कथित NEET अनियमितताओं से जोड़ा है। उधर, सोमवार के विरोध मार्च के दौरान हुई हिंसा और तोड़फोड़ के मामलों में पुलिस अब तक छह एफआईआर दर्ज कर चुकी है।
जांच एजेंसियां इस पूरे घटनाक्रम में किसी व्यापक आपराधिक साजिश की भी पड़ताल कर रही हैं।
इस मुद्दे पर राजनीतिक गतिविधियां भी तेज हो गई हैं। कांग्रेस की राज्य इकाइयों ने केरल, जम्मू-कश्मीर, असम सहित कई राज्यों में छात्रों पर पुलिस कार्रवाई और राहुल गांधी तथा प्रियंका गांधी की हिरासत के विरोध में प्रदर्शन किए।
मंगलवार को दोनों नेताओं ने अन्य कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं के साथ प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के आवास के बाहर धरना दिया था। समाजवादी पार्टी के अध्यक्ष अखिलेश यादव को भी इसी प्रदर्शन के दौरान हिरासत में लिया गया।
इन घटनाक्रमों पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने कांग्रेस पर छात्रों का राजनीतिक इस्तेमाल करने का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने कहा कि संसद के मानसून सत्र के दौरान जानबूझकर टकराव का माहौल बनाया जा रहा है।
सोशल मीडिया मंच एक्स पर जारी अपने बयान में प्रधान ने कहा कि राहुल गांधी और कांग्रेस ने प्रधानमंत्री आवास के बाहर धरना देकर सुरक्षा प्रोटोकॉल की अनदेखी की और आम लोगों को असुविधा पहुंचाई।
उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार पहले ही संसद में NEET से जुड़े सभी मुद्दों पर चर्चा के लिए तैयार है, लेकिन विपक्ष लोकतांत्रिक विमर्श के बजाय राजनीतिक टकराव को प्राथमिकता दे रहा है।
उन्होंने दोहराया कि केंद्र सरकार युवाओं की हर वास्तविक चिंता का समाधान संसद के भीतर चर्चा के माध्यम से करने के लिए पूरी तरह प्रतिबद्ध है। साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि छात्रों को राजनीतिक अभियान का माध्यम बनाने के बजाय उनकी समस्याओं का सार्थक समाधान किया जाना चाहिए।
