In a significant push toward strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s industrial infrastructure and attracting investment in the luxury commodities sector, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday called upon the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) to formulate a detailed and future-ready blueprint for establishing a state-of-the-art gems and jewellery park in the state.

The CM made this appeal while addressing a high-profile conclave organized by the IBJA in Lucknow.

During his address, CM Adityanath underscored the vital contribution of the gems and jewellery industry to India’s economic landscape.

He pointed out that the sector accounts for approximately 7% of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while also generating substantial revenue for the exchequer through import duties and Goods and Services Tax (GST).

“The importance of this industry goes far beyond just numbers—it is a key employment generator and a symbol of India’s cultural richness and craftsmanship, enhancing our identity on the global stage,” he said.

Uttar Pradesh as a Strategic Investment Hub

Reiterating his government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly ecosystem, CM Adityanath assured industry leaders and traders that Uttar Pradesh today offers an optimal environment for investment, marked by political stability, administrative efficiency, and law-and-order reforms.

“Our state now boasts modern, world-class infrastructure and a governance model rooted in transparency, ease of doing business, and swift resolution of concerns. This is not the same Uttar Pradesh that was once plagued by unrest and fear,” he declared.

Highlighting recent advancements in internal security and governance, the Chief Minister added, “We have ensured that Uttar Pradesh is free from riots and the grip of organized crime.

The law enforcement system here has been significantly strengthened. Threats are dealt with swiftly and effectively. People from all communities now celebrate their festivals in peace and harmony.”

Safe City Initiative and Government Support

He elaborated on the progress made under the government’s ambitious ‘Safe City’ initiative, a multi-pronged approach aimed at creating secure urban centers equipped with surveillance, rapid-response mechanisms, and citizen safety infrastructure.

“We have reduced police response times dramatically—from an earlier average of 25–30 minutes to just 7–8 minutes today. This shows how serious we are about safety and accountability,” he noted.

The Chief Minister also extended a promise of “unwavering support” to stakeholders in the gems and jewellery sector, assuring them of continued collaboration and dialogue with the state administration.

He emphasized that such conclaves are essential for opening new business avenues and catalyzing dialogue between government bodies and the private sector.

Vision for a Gems and Jewellery Park

Emphasizing the urgency and potential of setting up a dedicated gems and jewellery park in Uttar Pradesh, CM Adityanath urged the IBJA to lead the initiative by developing a detailed and integrated model.

“We need a comprehensive plan that covers the entire value chain—from product design and modern technology adoption to processing, packaging, supply chain logistics, and global exports. This is an opportunity to create something exemplary,” he said.

Such a park, he added, would not only serve domestic market needs but also enhance India’s competitive edge in the global jewellery trade. It would create a dedicated hub for artisans, designers, technologists, and exporters, fostering innovation, craftsmanship, and economic inclusion.

Demographic Advantage and Regional Influence

Speaking on Uttar Pradesh’s demographic and strategic advantages, CM Adityanath highlighted that the state’s population of over 25 crore people forms a critical consumer and labor base.

Moreover, the state plays a pivotal role in supporting a wider regional population—estimated at around 30 crore—by providing access to trade, healthcare, employment, and education.

“This gives us a unique edge. Whether it’s creating jobs, expanding industrial activity, or ensuring social development, UP is at the center of it all. For any investor or entrepreneur, this scale offers unmatched potential,” he said.

In conclusion, the Chief Minister called on business leaders to view Uttar Pradesh not merely as a geographic destination, but as a transformative platform for growth, innovation, and global outreach.

He assured that the state government is ready to extend every possible support—be it infrastructure, policy assistance, or security—to turn the vision of a world-class gems and jewellery park into reality.
