RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Hails Operation Sindoor, Calls Military Action Against Pakistan ‘Inevitable’ for National Security
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday praised the Indian government and armed forces for launching Operation Sindoor, describing it as a decisive and necessary step to safeguard national security.
The operation was carried out in response to a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which tragically claimed the lives of unarmed Hindu tourists.
In an official statement issued by the RSS, Bhagwat congratulated both the central leadership and the armed forces for their swift and effective response.
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Government of India and our armed forces for the courageous and timely action under Operation Sindoor against Pakistan-sponsored terrorists and the infrastructure supporting them.
This is a befitting reply to the heinous massacre of innocent tourists,” the statement read.
Bhagwat emphasized that such a strong retaliatory move had become inevitable. “We fully support the military operations being carried out against terrorist outfits, their infrastructure, and supporting networks within Pakistan.
These actions are not only justified but essential to protect the sovereignty and safety of our nation,” he asserted.
A Unified National Response
Highlighting the broader impact of the counter-offensive, the RSS chief said the operation has boosted the collective morale and national pride.
“By delivering justice to the grieving families and the nation at large, this mission has significantly raised the self-respect and morale of every Indian citizen,” Bhagwat noted.
He also addressed the ongoing cross-border hostilities, condemning the Pakistani military for targeting civilian areas and religious sites near India’s borders.
Expressing deep sympathy, he said, “We mourn with the families of those who lost their lives in these brutal, inhuman attacks carried out by Pakistan’s army. Our condolences are with every bereaved family.”
Call for Vigilance and Civic Responsibility
Bhagwat called upon the public to remain vigilant and cooperate fully with the armed forces and civil administration. He urged citizens to refrain from spreading misinformation or allowing disruptive elements to take advantage of the current tensions.
“In this hour of national crisis, it is our duty as responsible citizens to maintain unity and social harmony. We must stand firmly against any attempt by anti-national forces to create discord or unrest,” he said.
Appealing to people across the country to actively support the national interest, Bhagwat added, “True patriotism lies in standing ready to support our army and administration in every possible way. Let us all strengthen efforts to preserve the unity, integrity, and security of Bharat.”
Operation Sindoor: A Strategic Counter-Offensive
Bhagwat’s message followed India’s powerful counter-strike, launched after a series of drone and missile attacks reportedly targeted Indian military installations on Thursday.
The Pakistani assault, aimed at nearly 15 strategic sites across northern and western India, prompted immediate retaliation from Indian forces.
In response, India successfully struck back at several key Pakistani positions. Among the primary targets were air defence installations and radar systems in Pakistani cities, including Lahore, where one such defence system was reported to have been neutralised.
The operation underscores India’s firm stance against cross-border terrorism and reaffirms its resolve to respond decisively when national security is threatened.
