Faulty Tube Well Motor Leaves Hundreds of Families Facing Water Crisis in Prayagraj’s Shivkuti

Residents of the Shivkuti locality faced a severe drinking water shortage after the motor of a tube well located near Balaji School developed a technical fault.

The problem surfaced on Saturday morning, leaving hundreds of households without a regular water supply.

Following complaints from residents, the Jal Sansthan was informed about the breakdown.

Officials said that a maintenance team from the Jal Kal Department was immediately dispatched to the site.

Repair work on the damaged motor began at around 1 pm, and engineers worked throughout the day to restore the water supply as quickly as possible.

According to residents, the malfunction has affected the water supply to more than 700 households.

Areas facing the disruption include Kali Gali, Telephone Exchange Lane, Sitaram Temple locality, DDAA Pink Vihar, and several surrounding neighbourhoods.

As a result, people were forced to struggle for drinking water and daily household needs.

The repair work continued until late in the evening. Officials expressed hope that once the damaged motor is restored, the tube well will become operational and the water supply to the affected areas will resume.

They also assured residents that every effort is being made to complete the repairs at the earliest so that normal water distribution can be restored without further delay.

शिवकुटी क्षेत्र में बालाजी स्कूल के पास स्थित नलकूप की मोटर में तकनीकी खराबी आने से इलाके में पेयजल संकट गहरा गया। शनिवार सुबह मोटर खराब होने के कारण सैकड़ों घरों में पानी की आपूर्ति ठप हो गई। स्थानीय लोगों की शिकायत मिलने के बाद जल संस्थान को इसकी सूचना दी गई।

सूचना मिलते ही जलकल विभाग की मरम्मत टीम मौके पर पहुँची और दोपहर लगभग एक बजे से मोटर की मरम्मत का कार्य शुरू कर दिया गया। कर्मचारियों ने जलापूर्ति जल्द से जल्द बहाल करने के उद्देश्य से पूरे दिन मरम्मत का काम जारी रखा।

स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार इस खराबी से 700 से अधिक परिवार प्रभावित हुए हैं। काली गली, टेलीफोन एक्सचेंज वाली गली, सीताराम मंदिर क्षेत्र, डीडीएए पिंक विहार तथा आसपास की कई बस्तियों में पानी की आपूर्ति बाधित रही। पेयजल उपलब्ध न होने के कारण लोगों को रोजमर्रा की आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने में भारी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ा।

मरम्मत का कार्य देर शाम तक चलता रहा। अधिकारियों ने उम्मीद जताई कि मोटर ठीक होते ही नलकूप दोबारा चालू कर दिया जाएगा और प्रभावित इलाकों में जलापूर्ति सामान्य हो जाएगी। उन्होंने भरोसा दिलाया कि मरम्मत का कार्य शीघ्र पूरा कर बिना किसी अतिरिक्त देरी के पानी की आपूर्ति बहाल कर दी जाएगी।
