A sensational murder case has emerged from Meerut, where a 32-year-old school operator was allegedly killed using a highly venomous krait to make the crime appear as a snakebite.
Police have arrested the victim’s wife, a school bus driver, and two snake charmers.
Meerut: What initially appeared to be a tragic case of accidental snakebite has turned into one of the most chilling murder investigations in recent months.
Police have arrested four people, including the victim’s wife, after uncovering an alleged conspiracy in which a highly venomous krait snake was allegedly used to murder a 32-year-old school operator and disguise the killing as a natural snakebite.
The deceased, Atul Kumar Panwar, was found dead inside his rented residence in J-Block Colony of Hastinapur on Friday morning.
At first glance, the circumstances suggested that he had died after being bitten by a snake while asleep.
However, investigators now claim the death was the outcome of a carefully planned conspiracy allegedly hatched by his wife, Damini, and her alleged associate, Tushar, who worked as a bus driver at the couple’s school.
According to investigators, the accused allegedly attempted to execute what they believed would be the “perfect murder.”
Police claim Atul was first served milk allegedly mixed with sleeping tablets to render him unconscious.
Once he had fallen into a deep sleep, a venomous krait snake was allegedly released and made to bite him, resulting in his death.
Officers believe the plan was designed to ensure that the incident would be mistaken for a fatal snakebite and escape criminal suspicion.
The investigation further revealed the alleged involvement of two snake charmers, identified as Sonu and Uday Kumar, both residents of Hastinapur.
Police said they were allegedly contacted to procure and handle the highly venomous snake used in the crime.
All four accused have been taken into custody, and further interrogation is underway.
Police said Atul belonged to Bhandora village, while Damini was a resident of J-Block Colony.
The couple married in 2019 and had been living in a rented house in Hastinapur for nearly four months along with their six-year-old son.
About three months ago, they jointly established Krishna Kids Play School, hoping to build a future in the education sector.
Investigators said Tushar, a resident of Kohla village in Mawana, joined the school around the same period as its bus driver.
During the course of the investigation, police allegedly discovered evidence suggesting that he and Damini had developed a close personal relationship, which officers believe became the motive behind the alleged conspiracy.
The case initially took an entirely different direction. On Friday morning, Damini reportedly informed neighbours and residents that her husband had died after being bitten by a snake while sleeping.
A snake found lying on the bed was beaten to death by people present before authorities arrived at the scene.
Police officers who reached the house found bite marks on Atul’s hand and leg. Since a dead snake was also recovered from the bed, the incident initially appeared to be an accidental snakebite.
However, investigators said certain inconsistencies at the scene prompted a more detailed inquiry.
The breakthrough came after Atul’s father, Ajab Singh, expressed suspicion over the circumstances surrounding his son’s death and accused his daughter-in-law of murdering him.
Acting on the family’s complaint, police launched a comprehensive investigation into the sequence of events leading up to the death.
Senior Superintendent of Police Avinash Pandey said investigators examined the victim’s personal and professional background, analysed evidence and questioned several people connected to the family.
During the investigation, police allegedly uncovered the relationship between Damini and Tushar, which they believe ultimately provided the motive for the crime.
According to the SSP, the investigation gradually established that the incident was not an accidental snakebite but a pre-planned homicide.
Police allege the accused meticulously designed the murder to resemble a natural death, expecting that the presence of a venomous snake would divert suspicion and prevent a criminal investigation.
The case has stunned residents of Hastinapur, where the family had only recently started their school.
Locals expressed disbelief that an alleged murder of such sophistication could have been planned within the household.
Police are continuing to collect forensic evidence, examine digital records and question the accused to establish the complete sequence of events and determine whether anyone else was involved in the alleged conspiracy.

मेरठ: उत्तर प्रदेश के मेरठ जिले से सामने आया एक हत्याकांड अपनी भयावहता और कथित साजिश के तरीके के कारण पूरे प्रदेश में चर्चा का विषय बन गया है।
पहली नजर में जिस घटना को सामान्य सर्पदंश से हुई मौत माना जा रहा था, पुलिस जांच में वही मामला कथित रूप से सुनियोजित हत्या निकला।
पुलिस ने इस मामले में मृतक की पत्नी, स्कूल के बस चालक तथा दो सपेरों सहित चार लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है।
मृतक की पहचान 32 वर्षीय अतुल कुमार पंवार के रूप में हुई है, जिनका शव शुक्रवार सुबह हस्तिनापुर की जे-ब्लॉक कॉलोनी स्थित किराए के मकान में मिला था।
प्रारंभिक जांच में ऐसा प्रतीत हुआ कि सोते समय सांप के काटने से उनकी मौत हो गई।
लेकिन जांच आगे बढ़ने पर पुलिस ने दावा किया कि यह पूरी घटना एक सुनियोजित आपराधिक षड्यंत्र का हिस्सा थी।
पुलिस के अनुसार, आरोप है कि अतुल की पत्नी दामिनी और स्कूल में बस चालक के रूप में कार्यरत तुषार ने मिलकर हत्या की योजना बनाई।
जांचकर्ताओं का कहना है कि सबसे पहले अतुल को कथित रूप से नींद की गोलियां मिलाकर दूध पिलाया गया ताकि वह गहरी नींद में चला जाए।
इसके बाद एक अत्यंत ज़हरीले करैत सांप से उसे डसवाया गया, जिससे उसकी मृत्यु हो गई। पुलिस का आरोप है कि पूरी योजना इस तरह बनाई गई थी कि मामला स्वाभाविक सर्पदंश का लगे और किसी को हत्या का संदेह न हो।
जांच में दो सपेरों सोनू और उदय कुमार, दोनों निवासी हस्तिनापुर, की कथित भूमिका भी सामने आई।
पुलिस का आरोप है कि इन्हीं दोनों ने जहरीले करैत की व्यवस्था की और कथित योजना को अंजाम देने में सहयोग किया। चारों आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर पूछताछ की जा रही है।
पुलिस के अनुसार, अतुल मूल रूप से भंडौरा गांव के रहने वाले थे, जबकि दामिनी जे-ब्लॉक क्षेत्र की निवासी है।
दोनों का विवाह वर्ष 2019 में हुआ था। पिछले चार महीनों से वे अपने छह वर्षीय बेटे के साथ हस्तिनापुर के किराए के मकान में रह रहे थे।
लगभग तीन महीने पहले दोनों ने मिलकर कृष्णा किड्स प्ले स्कूल की शुरुआत की थी।
इसी दौरान मवाना के कोहला गांव निवासी तुषार स्कूल में बस चालक के रूप में नियुक्त हुआ था।
पुलिस का दावा है कि जांच के दौरान यह जानकारी सामने आई कि दामिनी और तुषार के बीच कथित रूप से विवाहेतर संबंध थे।
जांच एजेंसियों का मानना है कि यही संबंध इस कथित हत्या की प्रमुख वजह बना।
घटना वाले दिन सुबह दामिनी ने आसपास के लोगों को बताया कि अतुल की मौत सांप के काटने से हुई है। कमरे में बिस्तर पर मौजूद सांप को स्थानीय लोगों ने मौके पर ही मार डाला।
मृतक के हाथ और पैर पर सर्पदंश जैसे निशान मिलने के कारण शुरुआती जांच में यह मामला सामान्य दुर्घटना जैसा प्रतीत हुआ।
हालांकि, घटनास्थल की परिस्थितियों और कुछ तथ्यों ने पुलिस को संदेह में डाल दिया। इसके बाद मामले की गहराई से जांच शुरू की गई।
मामले ने नया मोड़ तब लिया जब मृतक के पिता अजब सिंह ने अपनी बहू पर बेटे की हत्या का आरोप लगाया।
परिवार की शिकायत के आधार पर पुलिस ने विस्तृत जांच शुरू की और मृतक के पारिवारिक, सामाजिक तथा पेशेवर जीवन से जुड़े कई पहलुओं की पड़ताल की।
वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक अविनाश पांडेय ने बताया कि जांच के दौरान कई महत्वपूर्ण सुराग मिले। पुलिस ने तकनीकी साक्ष्यों, पूछताछ और अन्य उपलब्ध जानकारियों के आधार पर कथित तौर पर दामिनी और तुषार के संबंधों की पुष्टि की। इसी के बाद जांच हत्या की दिशा में आगे बढ़ी।
एसएसपी के अनुसार, अब तक की जांच से यह संकेत मिले हैं कि अतुल की मौत किसी सामान्य सर्पदंश का परिणाम नहीं बल्कि पहले से रची गई कथित हत्या थी।
पुलिस का आरोप है कि पूरे घटनाक्रम को इस तरह तैयार किया गया कि मृत्यु प्राकृतिक लगे और हत्या का संदेह ही न हो।
इस सनसनीखेज मामले ने पूरे हस्तिनापुर क्षेत्र को स्तब्ध कर दिया है।
जिस परिवार ने कुछ ही महीने पहले बच्चों के भविष्य को संवारने के उद्देश्य से स्कूल खोला था, उसी परिवार के भीतर इस तरह की कथित साजिश सामने आने से स्थानीय लोग भी हैरान हैं।
पुलिस अब फोरेंसिक रिपोर्ट, डिजिटल साक्ष्यों और आरोपियों से पूछताछ के आधार पर मामले की हर कड़ी जोड़ने में जुटी है।
जांच एजेंसियां यह भी पता लगाने का प्रयास कर रही हैं कि इस कथित षड्यंत्र में किसी अन्य व्यक्ति की भी भूमिका थी या नहीं।
