Husband Fails to Recognise Wife, Lands in Police Custody After Temple Meeting

In a bizarre and almost unbelievable incident from Daraganj, a man mistook his own wife for another woman on social media and ended up being arrested when he went to meet her under the impression of a romantic encounter.

According to the complaint filed at Daraganj police station by Soni Tripathi, a resident of Jagapur village in Nawabganj, she had been married to Prabhudutt Tripathi alias Raja, a resident of Kishundas Nawabganj in Kalakankar, Pratapgarh, for nearly nine years.

She alleged that her husband and in-laws had thrown her out of the house, forcing her to live with her parents, along with their five-year-old daughter,r for the past four years.

Soni created a new identity on Instagram and contacted her husband. Failing to recognise her, he began conversing with her as if she were another woman. Over time, he even proposed marriage and started pressuring her to meet him at a hotel.

When she refused, they agreed to meet on May 2 at the Nagvasuki Temple in Daraganj. Soni arrived at the temple with her family members and initially kept her identity hidden.

However, as soon as she revealed who she really was, her husband allegedly became violent—assaulting her and threatening to kill her before attempting to flee.

Mother and Lover Arrested for Murder of 8-Year-Old Boy in Naini

In a deeply disturbing case from Neem Sarai, police have arrested a woman and her lover for the brutal murder of her eight-year-old son, Shayan.

The incident, which initially appeared to be an accidental death, has now been exposed as a calculated crime.

According to police, the accused—Shayan’s mother, er Seema, and her lover Avaidul Haq—were attempting to conceal their illicit relationship.

They had initially claimed that the child died after falling from the stairs. However, suspicions arose when Shayan’s younger siblings and neighbours reported that he had been beaten.

The truth came to light after the post-mortem examination, which confirmed that Shayan had been suffocated—his nose and mouth had been pressed to cause death.

The report also revealed multiple injury marks on his body, including signs of burning and severe physical assault.

Based on the post-mortem findings and a complaint filed by Shayan’s maternal grandfather, Nizamuddin, a resident of Sarai Akil, the police registered a murder case.
