Prayagraj Family Murder Case: Businessman, Wife, Daughter and Son Killed; Friend Arrested After Alleged Conspiracy

A shocking quadruple murder in Prayagraj has taken a dramatic turn with the arrest of a close friend of the deceased family’s son.

Investigators claim that the accused not only participated in the killings of a businessman, his wife and daughter, but later also murdered his friend in an attempt to conceal the crime and mislead police.

According to the police, the accused, Monu Jaiswal, was taken into custody in connection with the deaths of businessman Virendra Vaishya, his wife Manju Vaishya, daughter Meenakshi and son Abhishek.

During questioning, Monu allegedly admitted that he and Abhishek had initially planned the murders together.

However, he later turned against Abhishek and killed him as well.

Police officials said a handwritten note recovered during the investigation suggested an attempt to falsely implicate Abhishek’s brother.

The note reportedly contained the message that a brother and sister had been killed, which investigators believe was part of a plan to divert suspicion.

The breakthrough came after police received information about suspicious activity at a house in Malaka, Prayagraj.

A team was dispatched to the location, where officers began gathering evidence and questioning people connected to the family.

Investigators believe financial troubles and disputes over valuables may have played a significant role in the crime.

Preliminary findings suggest that the accused was under pressure due to debt and saw an opportunity to obtain jewellery and cash from the Vaishya household.

Police sources stated that after the murders, gold ornaments and cash worth several lakh rupees were allegedly removed from the house.

During the investigation, officers recovered stolen jewellery and other items believed to be linked to the crime.

According to investigators, Abhishek and Monu were close associates. The two allegedly discussed eliminating family members and sharing the valuables.

However, after carrying out the murders, tensions reportedly emerged between them over the distribution of the stolen property.

Police suspect that, fearing exposure and wanting to keep the entire loot for himself, Monu later attacked Abhishek.

Investigators allege that he struck Abhishek with an iron rod, killing him before disposing of evidence and attempting to create a misleading narrative around the deaths.

The bodies of the victims were discovered under different circumstances, prompting an extensive investigation.

Forensic teams collected samples from the crime scene, while officers examined mobile phone records, financial transactions and witness statements to reconstruct the sequence of events.

The case has sent shockwaves across Prayagraj, with residents expressing disbelief that a trusted friend could allegedly be involved in such a brutal crime.

Police continue to investigate the wider circumstances surrounding the murders and are examining whether any other individuals had knowledge of or involvement in the conspiracy.
