Prayagraj Road Accident: Jaunpur bullion Trader Ajay Jaiswal Killed in Dumper Collision, Wife and Driver Critically Injured
Phulpur (Prayagraj): A tragic road accident claimed the life of a well-known businessman from Jaunpur on Sunday morning when the car in which he was travelling collided head-on with a dumper truck.
The devastating crash left his wife and driver critically injured, while the businessman died before he could receive medical treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Jaiswal (52), a respected flower trader associated with the Jaunpur bullion market.
According to reports, the accident occurred on the Varanasi–Lucknow highway near Patel Pump in Bara Shari village, which falls under the Saraymamrej police station area.
Returning Home When Tragedy Struck
Family members and local sources said that Ajay Jaiswal had travelled to Varanasi on Saturday evening for personal work.
Late at night, around 2 a.m., he began his return journey accompanied by his wife, Gudiya Jaiswal, and their driver, Pradeep Tiwari.
As their vehicle approached the accident site early Sunday morning, it reportedly collided with a dumper truck coming from the opposite direction.
The impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, leaving the occupants trapped inside the wreckage.
Businessman Dies at the Scene
Eyewitnesses said the collision was extremely forceful. Ajay Jaiswal suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot.
Residents rushed to the scene and, after considerable effort, managed to rescue his wife and the driver from the crushed vehicle.
Both Gudiya Jaiswal and Pradeep Tiwari sustained serious injuries in the crash. Emergency responders and local police were informed immediately and reached the location shortly thereafter.
Injured Shifted to Hospital
The injured were initially taken to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment.
Due to the seriousness of their condition, doctors later referred them to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital (SRN Hospital), Prayagraj, for advanced medical care.
Hospital sources indicated that both victims were receiving treatment for multiple injuries, and their condition remained critical at the time of reporting.
Community Mourns the Loss
News of Ajay Jaiswal’s death spread quickly through the flower trading community, leaving colleagues, friends, and relatives in shock.
Known in the region for his longstanding association with the bullion business, his untimely demise has been widely mourned.
Saraymamrej Station House Officer Arun Kumar Singh stated that the body was taken into police custody and sent for post-mortem examination.
Following the completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to family members for the last rites.
The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident and are examining all aspects of the collision.
