Prayagraj Crime News: FIR Filed Against Seven Accused After Fruit Trader Shot in Alleged Land Dispute Near Jhunsi
Prayagraj: Police in Prayagraj have registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the shooting of a fruit trader near Devghat in the Jhunsi area.
The case has been filed against seven individuals, following allegations made by the victim that the attack was linked to an ongoing land dispute.
According to the complaint, Vinayak Singh, a resident of Devghat, approached the police after sustaining gunshot injuries during the incident.
Based on his statement, the Jhunsi police station has initiated legal proceedings and begun an investigation into the matter.
Attack Allegedly Took Place at Construction Site
In his complaint, Vinayak Singh stated that on Saturday afternoon at around 2 p.m., he was supervising construction work on a plot of land when the incident occurred.
He alleged that during this time, a group of individuals arrived at the site and became involved in a confrontation with him.
The victim claimed that approximately half an hour later, two young men arrived on a motorcycle.
According to his account, the pillion rider pulled out a firearm and opened fire on him.
Three Rounds Allegedly Fired
Vinayak Singh alleged that the assailant fired three rounds at him. During the attack, one of the bullets struck his leg, causing him to collapse to the ground.
Following the shooting, people present at the scene rushed to assist him. He was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he received medical treatment. Police were also informed about the incident and began collecting evidence from the location.
Victim Links Attack to Land Dispute
In his statement to the police, the injured trader alleged that the attack stemmed from a dispute over ownership of the land where the construction work was underway.
He accused Mushtaq, Mohammad Nusrat, Mohammad Hashim, Mohammad Anus, Mohammad Hussain, Akmal Ahmed, Mohammad Usman Ashraf, and several others of conspiring to carry out the attack and intentionally attempting to cause him serious harm.
Police Begin Investigation
Following the registration of the FIR, police officials launched an investigation into the allegations.
Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting, verifying the claims made in the complaint, and gathering evidence to identify the individuals responsible for the attack.
Officials stated that further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
