Prayagraj: Two separate road accidents in Prayagraj on Friday claimed the lives of a man out on his morning walk and an elderly woman travelling on a motorcycle, leaving their families devastated and once again highlighting the growing concern over road safety and stray animal hazards on busy roads.

Morning Walk Ends in Tragedy in Kaundhiyara

A pall of grief descended over Barethiya village in the Kaundhiyara police station area after a 35-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Friday morning.

The victim, identified as Mangla Prasad, had stepped out for his routine morning walk, unaware that it would be his final outing.

According to family members, Mangla Prasad, son of Ram Sanjeevan and a resident of Barethiya village, left home as usual in the early hours of Friday.

When he did not return for a long time, his worried family members began searching for him. During the search, villagers informed them about a road accident that had occurred near the village.

When the family reached the spot, they found Mangla Prasad lying critically injured on the roadside. By then, he had already succumbed to his injuries.

The heartbreaking sight left the family shattered, while grief spread rapidly through the village.

Eyewitnesses told police that a speeding unidentified vehicle hit the victim and fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Following the incident, the Jari outpost in charge, Sunil Kumar, arrived at the location along with police personnel and inspected the accident site.

Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Investigators are now scanning CCTV footage installed near the area in an effort to identify the vehicle and trace the absconding driver. Meanwhile, the victim’s family remains inconsolable as villagers gathered at the house to offer condolences.

Elderly Woman Dies After Motorcycle Collides with Stray Bull in Phaphamau

In another tragic incident on Friday morning, a 65-year-old woman lost her life after the motorcycle she was travelling on collided with a stray bull on the Phaphamau bypass road.

The deceased, identified as Kaluiya Devi, was a resident of Lakhanpur Sahabpur village under the Nawabganj police station area.

She was travelling to Prayagraj with her nephew on a motorcycle when the accident occurred near the Park Tiraha on the Phaphamau bypass.

According to reports, a stray bull suddenly came onto the road, leaving the rider with little time to react.

The motorcycle rammed into the animal, causing both riders to lose balance. While the nephew escaped unhurt, Kaluiya Devi suffered serious injuries in the crash.

She was immediately rushed to SRN Hospital for treatment, but doctors could not save her life. Her death has left the family in deep mourning.

The incident has once again raised concerns over the increasing presence of stray cattle on highways and bypass roads, which continue to pose a major threat to commuters and often lead to fatal accidents.
