Prayagraj Triple Murder: Prime Accused Had Allegedly Threatened Family Earlier, Police Accused of Taking Warnings Lightly
Prayagraj: New details emerging from the sensational triple murder in Neebi Khurdkatwa village of Prayagraj’s Meja region suggest that the main accused had allegedly threatened the victims long before the crime took place.
The revelations have sparked outrage among villagers and raised serious questions about the police’s response to earlier complaints.
The brutal killing of three members of the Gupta family has left residents stunned and struggling to come to terms with the horrific incident.
Villagers said the accused’s actions were so shocking that they still find it difficult to believe such a tragedy could occur in their peaceful community.
A Well-Known Family Devastated by the Murders
The deceased belonged to a respected family in the village. The victims included Shyamlal Gupta, his sister-in-law Indravati Gupta, and another family member, Amaravati Gupta.
The family had already suffered losses in recent years, as Shyamlal’s younger brother Vindhyachal Gupta and Manoj Gupta had passed away earlier.
At the time of the incident, Shyamlal and the surviving family members were living together in the village.
According to residents, the family was known for its close-knit relationships and had no major disputes with others in the community.
Love Affair Allegedly Triggered the Deadly Conspiracy
Police investigations indicate that the murders were linked to a romantic relationship.
According to investigators, the principal accused, Himanshu Yadav, was allegedly in a relationship with a young woman from the Gupta family and wanted to marry her.
However, members of the girl’s family reportedly opposed the relationship and did not agree to the proposed marriage.
Sources said the disagreement had been continuing for several months and had become a subject of discussion within the village.
Before the murders, a village panchayat meeting was reportedly convened to resolve the issue.
During those discussions, Himanshu Yadav was allegedly advised to distance himself from the young woman. Despite this, he reportedly remained determined to marry her.
Accused Had Allegedly Issued Threats Earlier
According to allegations made by family members, Himanshu Yadav had repeatedly pressured the girl’s relatives to accept the marriage proposal. They also claimed that he had threatened them on several occasions.
Police sources revealed that complaints regarding these threats had previously been made.
However, no significant action was allegedly taken at the time. The claims have now brought the conduct of the police under scrutiny, with villagers questioning whether stronger intervention could have prevented the tragedy.
Investigators further stated that the young woman had reportedly stayed for nearly a month at the residence of a relative in Rajapur, located within the jurisdiction of the Manda police station area.
Authorities are now examining whether this development had any connection to the escalating tensions between the two families.
Murder Weapon Recovered During Investigation
As part of the ongoing investigation, police have recovered the weapon allegedly used in the killings. Officials said that a forensic team has also been involved in examining the evidence collected from the crime scene.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Chandra Yadav, the murders were carried out over a relationship dispute.
Five people, including the principal accused, have been arrested in connection with the case.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and that every aspect of the crime is being thoroughly examined to establish the precise sequence of events and determine the role played by each of the accused.
The shocking incident has once again highlighted how unresolved personal conflicts and ignored warning signs can sometimes culminate in devastating acts of violence, leaving entire families and communities shattered.
