Rampur MP-MLA court awards ten year rigorous imprisonment to Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan along with fourteen lakh fine.
Rampur MP MLA court has awarded ten years rigorous punishment and rupees fourteen lakh fine to Azam Khan, the senior samajwadi party leader who is still in jail.
Khan his wife and son Abdulla were given bail by the Allahabad High Court recently in a case of forged date of birth issue.
His wife was released but he and his son could not come out as there are other pending cases against the father son duo.
Along with Khan, the MP MLA court has also awarded seven year imprisonment and a fine of six lakh on a contractor Barkat Ali.
The residents of Dungarpur had lodged twelve FIRs against Azam Khan in 2019 accusing him of forcibly evicting, looting and assaulting them.
Khan had been acquitted in two cases. In one case he was sent behind bars for seven years.
In the fourth case Azam Khan has been held guilty again.
Eight other cases lodged against him are still pending in the court.
