The helicopter crashed in Ras Tanura, a strategically important city on Saudi Arabia’s Gulf coast that serves as one of the kingdom’s largest oil export and industrial centres.

The accident comes only days after Saudi Aramco resumed crude oil loading operations at its Ras Tanura export terminal.
Shipments had remained suspended for nearly four months due to tensions and military conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran across West Asia.
The company had recently restarted operations as regional conditions began to stabilise.
Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil exporter, has been increasing shipments alongside other regional energy producers after oil and gas production ramped up ahead of an interim agreement aimed at easing hostilities between the United States and Iran.
The Saudi Press Agency confirmed that all 14 occupants of the helicopter lost their lives in the crash.
Quoting the Ministry of Energy, the agency said the accident claimed the lives of every passenger on board, bringing an abrupt and heartbreaking end to their journey.
