St Columbus School Salori Hosts English Speaking Pledge to Build Students’ Language Confidence
Students commit to using English in school and at home as the school promotes regular communication and stronger everyday language skills.
Prayagraj: St. Columbus School, Salori Branch, Prayagraj, organised a special English-speaking Pledge ceremony with the aim of encouraging students to make English a more consistent part of their everyday communication.
The programme focused on an important aspect of language learning: regular practice.
Rather than limiting the use of English to classroom lessons, students were encouraged to incorporate the language into conversations at home, in school and while interacting with friends and teachers.
During the ceremony, students took a collective pledge to communicate in English as frequently as possible and to work steadily towards improving their speaking abilities.
The initiative sought to encourage students to move beyond hesitation and develop greater confidence while expressing themselves in English.
The pledge also highlighted the importance of making language practice a daily habit.

The pledge was administered by Ms. Kasturi Ma’am, Principal of St. Columbus School, Salori Branch.

A key part of the event was the effort to recognise and motivate students. Geeta Chauhan Ma’am encouraged the participants by pinning badges on them, symbolising their commitment to the initiative.

प्रयागराज: विद्यार्थियों में अंग्रेजी भाषा के प्रति सहजता और बोलने का आत्मविश्वास बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से सेंट कोलंबस स्कूल, सलोरी शाखा, प्रयागराज में विशेष ‘इंग्लिश स्पीकिंग प्लेज’ समारोह आयोजित किया गया।
कार्यक्रम में छात्रों को अंग्रेजी का इस्तेमाल केवल कक्षा तक सीमित न रखने, बल्कि दैनिक जीवन का हिस्सा बनाने के लिए प्रेरित किया गया।
समारोह का मुख्य उद्देश्य विद्यार्थियों को नियमित अंग्रेजी संवाद के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना रहा।
छात्रों को समझाया गया कि किसी भी भाषा में बेहतर पकड़ केवल पाठ्यक्रम पढ़ने से नहीं, बल्कि उसे लगातार बोलने और व्यवहार में लाने से विकसित होती है।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान विद्यार्थियों ने सामूहिक रूप से संकल्प लिया कि वे स्कूल के साथ-साथ घर पर भी अंग्रेजी का अधिक से अधिक प्रयोग करेंगे।
दोस्तों और शिक्षकों से बातचीत के दौरान अंग्रेजी बोलने तथा अपनी भाषा संबंधी क्षमताओं में निरंतर सुधार करने का भी संकल्प लिया गया।
इस पहल के माध्यम से छात्रों को अंग्रेजी को केवल एक विषय के रूप में देखने के बजाय संचार के माध्यम के तौर पर अपनाने के लिए प्रेरित किया गया।
रोजमर्रा की बातचीत में भाषा का इस्तेमाल करने से विद्यार्थियों में झिझक कम करने और अपने विचार अधिक आत्मविश्वास के साथ व्यक्त करने का प्रयास किया गया।
कार्यक्रम में विद्यार्थियों को संकल्प दिलाने की जिम्मेदारी स्कूल की प्रधानाचार्या सुश्री कस्तूरी मैम ने निभाई। उन्होंने छात्रों को अंग्रेजी बोलने के प्रति गंभीरता और निरंतरता बनाए रखने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
समारोह में विद्यार्थियों का उत्साह बढ़ाने के लिए गीता चौहान मैम ने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
उन्होंने छात्रों को बैज लगाकर उनके संकल्प को प्रोत्साहित किया।
बैज के माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों को उनके द्वारा लिए गए संकल्प की याद दिलाने के साथ इस अभियान से जुड़ाव का भाव भी मजबूत किया गया।
कार्यक्रम का सफल संचालन कोऑर्डिनेटर सुश्री अलीशा पंडित के विशेष सहयोग से किया गया। उनकी देखरेख और सहयोग से समारोह की गतिविधियां व्यवस्थित रूप से संपन्न हुईं।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान आयोजित गतिविधियों और विद्यार्थियों के उत्साहपूर्ण सहभागिता के क्षणों को मोना मैम ने कैमरे में कैद किया। समारोह की तस्वीरों में विद्यार्थियों और शिक्षकों की भागीदारी को दर्ज किया गया।
स्कूल की इस पहल का उद्देश्य किसी एक कार्यक्रम तक सीमित नहीं है।
इसके जरिए विद्यार्थियों में अंग्रेजी बोलने की ऐसी आदत विकसित करने पर जोर दिया गया, जिसे वे आगे भी जारी रख सकें।
नियमित अभ्यास से छात्रों को नए शब्दों का इस्तेमाल करने, वाक्य बनाने और बातचीत के दौरान अपने विचार रखने में अधिक सहजता मिलने की उम्मीद है।
