Two Elderly Grain Traders Killed After Speeding Car Hits Motorcycle Near Maida Mod on Rewa Road in Prayagraj

Prayagraj: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two elderly grain traders on Sunday afternoon near Maida Mod in the Bara police station area, when a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle. The victims were on their way to purchase wheat when the incident occurred.

According to police, Sehat Bahadur Kesarwani (70) and Bihari Agrahari (65), residents of Jari Bazaar in the Kaundhiyara police station area, were engaged in the grain trade.

They regularly procured wheat and other food grains from villages and supplied them to mandis for sale.

On Sunday, the two left on a motorcycle to buy wheat when, near Maida Mod on Rewa Road, a fast-moving car travelling from Prayagraj towards Jabalpur collided with their vehicle.

Both men sustained critical injuries in the crash. Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information and rushed the injured to a hospital in Prayagraj. However, doctors declared both traders dead on arrival.

News of their untimely deaths cast a pall of gloom over the local business community, where they were known for their long association with the grain trade. It is also learnt that both men were associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Station House Officer of Bara police station, Sanjay Rai, said that the occupants of the car are residents of Jabalpur. A case has been registered, and further investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.

Govind Sharan, a social worker famous in the area who has devoted himself to the service of the people of the area, is very sad.

Talking to thewitnesstimes.com,  he said, the duo who succumbed to their injuries in the accident were extremely good-hearted people and always helped people in need.

As a matter of fact, the whole Jari area in Bara is saddened by their untimely death. It appears as if someone from the families of the two has left this world.

Both will be remembered by all of us forever. We wish God grants peace to their beautiful souls, he added.
