UPESSC Assistant Professor Exam 2026 Conducted Across Six UP Cities Under AI Surveillance; Nearly 39,200 Candidates Appear

Lucknow/Prayagraj: The written examination for recruitment of Assistant Professors, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), concluded smoothly on Sunday amid tight supervision across six districts of the state.

Authorities deployed an AI-integrated control command centre and extensive camera surveillance to ensure the process remained transparent and free from malpractice.

The examination for 16 subjects was organised in two shifts at 50 centres spread across Agra, Meerut, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur and Varanasi.

The first shift was held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by the second shift from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Officials at the Commission’s headquarters continuously monitored the proceedings through the AI-enabled command room.

Chairperson Dr Prashant Kumar, along with the Secretary, Controller of Examinations and other senior officials, kept a close watch on arrangements at each centre.

In a move aimed at strengthening transparency, the Commission also introduced a pilot project for immediate scanning of OMR sheets at five centres in Prayagraj.

The scanning was carried out in the presence of candidates and invigilators soon after the examination concluded.

The Commission Chairperson personally inspected arrangements at several centres, including Mary Wanamaker Girls’ Inter College, Colonelganj Inter College and Prayag Mahila Vidyapeeth Inter College, reviewing the implementation of the new system.

According to official figures, a total of 39,192 candidates appeared in the examination conducted on April 18 and 19. Of these, 19,718 candidates took the test on April 18, while 19,474 appeared on April 19.

Officials described the examination as peaceful, well-coordinated and conducted within schedule across all centres, with technology playing a significant role in ensuring fairness and accountability.
