UGC to Open National Scholarship Portal Soon for PG and Ishan Uday Scholarships; Students Asked to Keep Documents Ready
New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) is set to begin the application process for two major scholarship programmes by activating the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) in the coming days.
The initiative will cover the National Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies (NSPG) and the Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme for students from the North Eastern Region.
The commission has announced that the detailed schedule for online registrations and submissions will be released shortly.
Once the portal goes live, eligible candidates will be able to submit their applications through the official NSP website.
Designed to encourage meritorious students to continue higher education without financial constraints, the National Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies is available to candidates enrolled in the first year of a regular, full-time postgraduate degree programme at recognised institutions.
Under the scheme, selected beneficiaries will receive financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh over two years, payable at Rs 10,000 every month, to help meet academic and educational expenses.
Focused on expanding access to higher education in the North Eastern states, the Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme offers financial support to students pursuing undergraduate programmes.
Applicants who have completed Class XII from recognised educational boards in the North Eastern Region and secured admission to the first year of a regular undergraduate course in an approved institution are eligible to seek assistance under the scheme.
Successful applicants under the Ishan Uday programme will receive annual scholarship support ranging between Rs 10,000 and Rs 80,000, depending on the discipline and course of study.
The assistance will continue for a period of three to five years, subject to eligibility conditions.
The scheme is available only to students whose combined annual parental income does not exceed Rs 4.5 lakh.
To ensure that the scholarship process remains transparent and time-bound, the UGC has instructed all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to complete verification of applications within 15 days of their submission on the National Scholarship Portal.
Institutional Nodal Officers (INOs) have been directed to scrutinise every application carefully and either approve or reject it within the stipulated timeframe.
The commission has underlined that prompt verification will enable students to identify and rectify any discrepancies before the final submission deadline.
Educational institutions have also been asked to extend every possible assistance to applicants by providing guidance, resolving procedural issues and facilitating a smooth scholarship application process.

नई दिल्ली: विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (यूजीसी) शीघ्र ही दो प्रमुख छात्रवृत्ति योजनाओं के लिए नेशनल स्कॉलरशिप पोर्टल (एनएसपी) पर आवेदन प्रक्रिया शुरू करने जा रहा है।
इसके तहत नेशनल स्कॉलरशिप फॉर पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट स्टडीज (एनएसपीजी) तथा ईशान उदय स्पेशल स्कॉलरशिप स्कीम के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन आमंत्रित किए जाएंगे।
आयोग ने स्पष्ट किया है कि आवेदन की विस्तृत समय-सारिणी जल्द जारी की जाएगी। पोर्टल सक्रिय होते ही पात्र विद्यार्थी आधिकारिक एनएसपी वेबसाइट के माध्यम से आवेदन कर सकेंगे।
उच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त करने वाले मेधावी विद्यार्थियों को आर्थिक सहायता उपलब्ध कराने के उद्देश्य से संचालित नेशनल स्कॉलरशिप फॉर पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट स्टडीज योजना के तहत मान्यता प्राप्त संस्थानों में नियमित एवं पूर्णकालिक स्नातकोत्तर पाठ्यक्रम के प्रथम वर्ष में अध्ययनरत छात्र आवेदन करने के पात्र होंगे।
चयनित विद्यार्थियों को दो वर्षों के दौरान कुल 1.5 लाख रुपये की सहायता राशि प्रदान की जाएगी, जो प्रतिमाह 10,000 रुपये के रूप में वितरित की जाएगी।
पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र के विद्यार्थियों को उच्च शिक्षा के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने के उद्देश्य से संचालित ईशान उदय स्पेशल स्कॉलरशिप स्कीम स्नातक स्तर के छात्रों के लिए विशेष रूप से तैयार की गई है।
इस योजना के अंतर्गत पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों के मान्यता प्राप्त बोर्ड से कक्षा 12 उत्तीर्ण कर किसी स्वीकृत शिक्षण संस्थान में नियमित स्नातक पाठ्यक्रम के प्रथम वर्ष में प्रवेश लेने वाले विद्यार्थी आवेदन कर सकेंगे।
इस योजना के तहत चयनित छात्रों को पाठ्यक्रम के प्रकार के अनुसार प्रतिवर्ष 10,000 रुपये से 80,000 रुपये तक की आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी। यह सहायता तीन से पांच वर्ष तक जारी रहेगी।
योजना का लाभ केवल उन्हीं विद्यार्थियों को मिलेगा जिनके माता-पिता की वार्षिक संयुक्त आय 4.5 लाख रुपये से अधिक नहीं है।
छात्रवृत्ति प्रक्रिया को समयबद्ध और पारदर्शी बनाने के उद्देश्य से यूजीसी ने सभी उच्च शिक्षण संस्थानों (एचईआई) को निर्देश दिया है कि नेशनल स्कॉलरशिप पोर्टल पर प्राप्त प्रत्येक आवेदन का सत्यापन 15 दिनों के भीतर पूरा किया जाए।
संस्थागत नोडल अधिकारियों (आईएनओ) को निर्धारित अवधि में आवेदन की जांच कर उसे स्वीकृत अथवा अस्वीकृत करने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।
आयोग का कहना है कि समय पर सत्यापन होने से विद्यार्थियों को आवेदन में यदि कोई त्रुटि या कमी रह जाती है तो उसे अंतिम तिथि से पहले सुधारने का पर्याप्त अवसर मिलेगा।
साथ ही सभी शिक्षण संस्थानों से अपेक्षा की गई है कि वे आवेदन प्रक्रिया के दौरान विद्यार्थियों को आवश्यक मार्गदर्शन, तकनीकी सहायता और अन्य सहयोग उपलब्ध कराएं, ताकि कोई भी पात्र छात्र छात्रवृत्ति से वंचित न रह जाए।
