UP’s Mega Green Drive: Prayagraj Distributes 32,500 Free Saplings Ahead of Record 35 Crore Plantation Campaign
As part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s ambitious ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, a statewide plantation movement is being carried out on July 12 with an unprecedented target of planting 35 crore saplings in a single day.
The initiative aims to expand the state’s green cover while encouraging citizens to actively participate in environmental conservation.
To strengthen preparations for the massive plantation exercise, the Horticultural Experiment and Training Centre, Khusro Bagh, Prayagraj, distributed 32,500 seed-grown saplings free of cost to 155 beneficiaries on Saturday.
The recipients included personnel from central security forces, the Indian Army, the Prayagraj Development Authority, Indian Railways, voluntary organisations, political workers and several individual residents who pledged to contribute to the campaign by planting trees.
Officials said the plantation programme will receive further momentum on Sunday, July 12, when Joint Director of the Horticulture Department, Lucknow, Dr. Virendra Singh, will plant mother trees of guava, mango and other fruit-bearing varieties inside the Khusro Bagh horticultural campus, reinforcing the government’s commitment to long-term ecological sustainability.
Nursery in-charge V.K. Singh informed that the Khusro Bagh nursery will remain open on Sunday as well to facilitate the free distribution of saplings.
Citizens interested in participating in the mega plantation campaign can collect saplings without any charge and contribute to the state’s environmental mission by planting them at suitable locations.
District Judge Leads Plantation Drive at Prayagraj Court Campus
The District Court campus in Prayagraj also joined the statewide environmental initiative under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ programme.
Acting in compliance with directions issued by the Allahabad High Court, District Judge Satya Prakash Tripathi planted a tree within the court premises and urged judicial officers, employees, and members of the public to actively participate in the campaign by planting trees in honour of their mothers.
The plantation programme witnessed the participation of Additional District Judges Kumar Mayank, Vinod Kumar Chaurasia, Rahul Singh-I and Neeraj Kumar Upadhyay, along with Chief Judicial Magistrate Trisha Mishra, Railway Magistrate Vinay Kumar Jaiswal, senior administrative officer Sanjay Srivastava, Anil Kumar Mishra, advocates, officials from the Forest Department and court employees.
Together, they planted saplings across the court campus, reaffirming their collective commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार के महत्वाकांक्षी ‘एक पेड़ मां के नाम’ अभियान के तहत 12 जुलाई को प्रदेशभर में विशाल वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया जा रहा है।
इस ऐतिहासिक अभियान का उद्देश्य एक ही दिन में 35 करोड़ पौधे रोपित कर प्रदेश की हरित संपदा को बढ़ाना तथा आमजन की भागीदारी से पर्यावरण संरक्षण को जनआंदोलन का स्वरूप देना है।
महाअभियान को सफल बनाने की तैयारियों के क्रम में औद्यानिक प्रयोग एवं प्रशिक्षण केंद्र, खुसरोबाग, प्रयागराज की पौधशाला से शनिवार को 155 लाभार्थियों को 32,500 बीजू पौधे निःशुल्क वितरित किए गए।
पौधे प्राप्त करने वालों में केंद्रीय सुरक्षा बल, भारतीय सेना, प्रयागराज विकास प्राधिकरण, भारतीय रेलवे, स्वयंसेवी संस्थाएं, विभिन्न राजनीतिक दलों के स्थानीय कार्यकर्ता तथा बड़ी संख्या में आम नागरिक शामिल रहे, जिन्होंने पौधारोपण अभियान में सक्रिय भागीदारी का संकल्प लिया।
उद्यान विभाग के अधिकारियों के अनुसार रविवार, 12 जुलाई को संयुक्त निदेशक उद्यान, लखनऊ डॉ. वीरेन्द्र सिंह खुसरोबाग स्थित उद्यान परिसर में अमरूद, आम सहित विभिन्न फलदार प्रजातियों के मातृ पौधों का रोपण कर अभियान को नई गति देंगे।
यह पहल भविष्य में गुणवत्तापूर्ण पौध तैयार करने और हरित क्षेत्र के विस्तार में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगी।
पौधशाला प्रभारी वी.के. सिंह ने बताया कि रविवार को भी खुसरोबाग की पौधशाला आम नागरिकों के लिए खुली रहेगी। वृक्षारोपण अभियान में सहयोग देने के इच्छुक लोग यहां से निःशुल्क पौधे प्राप्त कर उन्हें उपयुक्त स्थानों पर रोपित कर सकते हैं।
जिला न्यायालय परिसर में भी गूंजा ‘एक पेड़ मां के नाम’ अभियान
इलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालय के निर्देशों के अनुपालन में जिला न्यायालय, प्रयागराज परिसर में भी व्यापक पौधारोपण कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया।
जनपद न्यायाधीश सत्य प्रकाश त्रिपाठी ने परिसर में पौधा लगाकर अभियान का शुभारंभ किया और उपस्थित न्यायिक अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों तथा आम नागरिकों से अपनी माताओं के सम्मान में कम से कम एक पौधा लगाने का आह्वान किया।
इस अवसर पर अपर जनपद न्यायाधीश कुमार मयंक, विनोद कुमार चौरसिया, राहुल सिंह-प्रथम, नीरज कुमार उपाध्याय, मुख्य न्यायिक मजिस्ट्रेट तृषा मिश्रा, रेलवे मजिस्ट्रेट विनय कुमार जायसवाल, वरिष्ठ प्रशासनिक अधिकारी संजय श्रीवास्तव, अनिल कुमार मिश्रा, अधिवक्ताओं, वन विभाग के अधिकारियों तथा न्यायालय के कर्मचारियों ने भी न्यायालय परिसर में पौधे रोपित कर पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति अपनी सामूहिक प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त की।
