Tribal leader Mohan Charan Majhi takes over CM Odhisa

Mohan Charan Majhi a tribal leader has taken oath as CM Odhisa in the presence of PM Narendra Modi and former chief minister Naveen Patnaik in the 147 member assembly here Wednesday.

BJP has bagged 78 seats in order to form government in this state.

With BJP coming to power the 24 year rule of the BJD led Patnaik government has come to an end here.

UP CM Yogi Aditya Nath has congratulated the new Odhisa government led by Mohan Charan Majhi on his X handle.

Among others who took oath include two deputy chief ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parda were sworn in. Pravati Parda has become the first woman deputy chief minister of the state. Eight ministers and five ministers of State also took oath.

Governor Odhisa Raghubar Das administered the oath of office to the first BJP chief minister along with others.

With the BJP coming into power  the state of Odhisa has entered a new era of politics. The state had been ruled by the Bavven Patnaik government for more than two decades. Tribals, interestingly comprise nearly 23  percent of the states population as a result picking Majhi as the bew CM is strategically going to help the BJP government rule state for quite sometime in case all goes well, says analysts.
