President of India Draupadi Murmu while expressing grief over increasing crime against woman, said enough is enough.

The time has come when the country needs to be educated on crime against woman.
The need of the hour was to change the mindset which treats women physically weak, less capable and unwise.
Drawing attention towards the brutal rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar hospital in Kolkata, the President said, she felt disappointed and afraid.
Disappointed because this incident adds to a series in crime against women.
While commenting on crime against women she said people who view women as an object were responsible for the growing crime against women.
It is our duty that we remove all obstacles that block the path of progress of our daughter’s so that they could free themselves of all fears and apprehensions.
The president who has herself written a article on crime against women with specific reference to the the RG Kar hospital rape incident elaborates that no civilised society can permit the kind of barbarism that was committed with the doctor.
The anger amongst countrymen was justified. This incident has left even me angered.
Predators of this crime were looking for their kill even at the time, students doctors and other were vociferously protesting against the rape and murder of the doctor that had just occured.
The victim’s include even small school going girls. Recalling an incident that shatters the nerves, the president said in 2012 some school girls had asked her whether any guarantees could be given so that the rape and murder of a nursing student which was given the nick name of “Nirbhay Kand” would not be repeated again.
After this tragedy, several such nerve shattening and horrifying incidents  laced with cruelty and barbarism have occured with women  even though only a few attracted the attention of the masses.
Have we taken any lessons from such incidents of gruesome crime against women?
As the reaction and outcry of the society in protest aginst such incidents started lessening these got relegated to the background and people started giving them less weight.
A time has come when such incidents draw attention and become public issue  only when the victim meets the same kind if fate kije Nirbhay and the Kolkata intern doctor, both besides being raped were tortured beyond inexplicable words.
The beasts involved in such incidents inflicted deep injuries in their private parts with an iron rod. This happened in the Nirbhaya case. In the case of if the Kolkata dictor injuries were found in her private parts as per reports and her legs were forcibly stretched to 180 degrees.
The latest figures on rape compiled by National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) were readily not available but the according to the 2022 data, 4 cases of rape were being reported in India every hour.
