BJPs attack on Congress, says Nehru-Gandhi family nexus with George Soros ‘run deep
The ruling party escalated its criticism of the Congress on Wednesday, claiming that the ties between American financier George Soros and the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty are extensive, going beyond Sonia Gandhi’s reported position as co-president of the Forum of Democratic Leaders – Asia Pacific (FDL-AP).
The governing party shared on X, referencing news reports, “Fori Nehru, who shared Hungarian origins with Soros, was the wife of BK Nehru, a cousin of Jawaharlal Nehru, which made her the paternal aunt of former Congress President and Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi.”
The party stated that records show George Soros had visited Fori Nehru and exchanged extensive letters with her, with their relationship dating back to the period when BK Nehru was serving as India’s diplomatic representative to the United States.
“This prompts concerns about how much the Nehru-Gandhi family might have jeopardized India’s national interests, throughout the years, to advance their extended family’s business and commercial ventures, along with the objectives of the establishment they’ve been connected to,” the party alleged.
“The relationship between George Soros and the Nehru-Gandhi family is deeply rooted, extending beyond Sonia Gandhi’s position as co-president of the Forum of Democratic Leaders – Asia Pacific (FDL-AP),” the party asserted.
The ruling party has maintained aggressive criticism since last week when it claimed Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi and former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi were connected to George Soros-supported organizations allegedly engaging in anti-India activities.
The Congress has rejected the ruling party’s accusations, stating that the conspiracy emerging during Parliament’s Winter session is the government’s willingness to risk India’s international relationships merely to protect businessman Gautam Adani.
The ruling party claimed on Sunday that Sonia Gandhi is connected to FDL-AP, which receives funding from the George Soros Foundation and has endorsed Kashmir’s independence.
This connection demonstrates foreign entities’ involvement in India’s domestic matters, the governing party had alleged.
