Nitish Kumar Reddy emerged as the hero for the Indian cricket team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, smashing an impressive 105 runs.

The young all-rounder created history by becoming the first Indian to score a century in Australia while batting at No. 8. Reddy reached the landmark with a boundary off Scott Boland, earning a thunderous standing ovation from the nearly 80,000-strong crowd.

His incredible determination brought immense pride to his family, especially his father, who was present to witness the achievement. As the match progressed, social media erupted with praise and admiration for Nitish’s outstanding performance.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu lauded Reddy’s achievement, celebrating his roots in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “Congratulations to Visakhapatnam youth K. Nitish Kumar Reddy for scoring a century in the fourth Test match… and becoming the third youngest Indian cricketer to achieve this feat,” Naidu wrote in Telugu.

The post also highlighted Reddy’s consistent success in Ranji matches and his rise through the ranks of Under-16 cricket.
