Atiq Ahmed’s Son Ali Ahmed Appears in Prayagraj Court in Extortion Case
Heavy security deployed as jailed accused records statement; police stop brother Ahjam from following convoy during return to Jhansi

PRAYAGRAJ: Ali Ahmed, son of slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, was brought from Jhansi jail to Prayagraj on Monday for proceedings in a three-year-old extortion case.
He remained inside the court for nearly two hours and recorded his statement before being taken back under heavy police security.
The court appearance triggered elaborate security arrangements, with more than 250 police personnel deployed around the Additional District Judge’s court.
Ali was escorted in a three-vehicle convoy comprising around 35 police personnel.
As Ali emerged from the court, reporters attempted to speak to him. Police officers immediately moved him into a waiting prison vehicle and drew the curtains, preventing interaction with the media.
Another accused in the same case, Asad Kalia, who is currently lodged in Kasganj jail, was also brought before the court. He too recorded his statement during the proceedings.
Police stopped Ahjam’s vehicle in Kaushambi.
The movement of Ali’s convoy was closely monitored during its journey between Jhansi and Prayagraj.
His younger brother Ahjam Ahmed was travelling behind the police convoy in a separate vehicle along with other cars. Police noticed the vehicle and stopped it in Kaushambi for checking.
During questioning, Ahjam reportedly told police that he had learned that Ali was being brought from jail to Prayagraj and had therefore decided to follow the convoy.
Police searched his vehicle and subsequently instructed him not to continue following the convoy.
The incident added another layer to the extensive security arrangements surrounding Ali’s court appearance.
What is the extortion case?
The case dates back to 2023, when an FIR was registered at Kareli police station in Prayagraj against five people, including Ali Ahmed.
According to the allegations in the case, associates of Ali allegedly demanded ₹30 lakh from the complainant on his instructions. It is further alleged that the complainant was forced to sign blank stamp papers and was assaulted.
The allegations are part of the criminal case and remain subject to judicial proceedings.
Ali was brought to court to participate in the proceedings and record his statement in connection with the case.
Ali had attended his brother Abaan’s funeral recently.
Ali’s latest appearance in Prayagraj comes weeks after he was brought to the city on parole following the death of his younger brother Abaan Ahmed in a road accident in Jhansi.
Abaan died on August 6, 2026, after the vehicle in which he was travelling crashed into a road divider in the Poonch area of Jhansi district.
He had reportedly been travelling towards Jhansi to meet Ali, who was lodged in the district jail.
The accident also claimed the life of Abaan’s friend, while other occupants of the vehicle were injured.
Following the death, the Allahabad High Court permitted Ali and his brother Umar Ahmed to attend Abaan’s funeral under police supervision. Ali was subsequently taken back to jail after the funeral proceedings.
Heavy security around court proceedings
Authorities made extensive security arrangements for Monday’s hearing because of Ali’s high-profile background and the presence of another accused in the case.
Police personnel were deployed inside and outside the court premises and along the route used by the prison convoy.
After the proceedings concluded, Ali was quickly moved into the prison vehicle without allowing media interaction. The convoy then departed Prayagraj for Jhansi under police escort.
The case will continue through the judicial process, with the court examining the allegations and statements recorded during the proceedings.

प्रयागराज: दिवंगत गैंगस्टर से राजनेता बने अतीक अहमद के बेटे अली अहमद को सोमवार को तीन साल पुराने रंगदारी मामले में प्रयागराज की अदालत में पेश किया गया। झांसी जेल से कड़ी सुरक्षा के बीच लाए गए अली करीब दो घंटे तक अदालत में रहे, जहां उनका बयान दर्ज किया गया।
अली की पेशी को देखते हुए प्रयागराज के अपर जिला जज न्यायालय परिसर के अंदर और बाहर भारी पुलिस बल तैनात किया गया था। करीब 250 से अधिक पुलिसकर्मियों की तैनाती की गई। अली को तीन वाहनों के काफिले में करीब 35 पुलिसकर्मियों की सुरक्षा के बीच अदालत लाया गया।
अदालत की कार्यवाही पूरी होने के बाद जब अली बाहर निकले तो मीडियाकर्मियों ने उनसे बात करने की कोशिश की। पुलिसकर्मियों ने उन्हें तुरंत वाहन के अंदर बैठा दिया और वैन के पर्दे खींच दिए। इसके बाद उन्हें कड़ी सुरक्षा में वापस झांसी के लिए रवाना कर दिया गया।
इसी मामले में एक और आरोपी की पेशी
इसी मुकदमे में आरोपी असद कालिया को भी कासगंज जेल से प्रयागराज लाया गया। उसे भी अदालत के समक्ष पेश किया गया और उसका बयान दर्ज किया गया।
दोनों आरोपियों की पेशी को देखते हुए अदालत परिसर में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को विशेष रूप से बढ़ाया गया था।
कौशांबी में अली के काफिले को रोककर अहजम से पूछताछ
झांसी से प्रयागराज और फिर वापसी के दौरान अली के पुलिस काफिले पर लगातार निगरानी रखी गई।
अली का छोटा भाई अहजम अहमद भी कुछ अन्य वाहनों के साथ कार से पुलिस काफिले के पीछे चल रहा था। पुलिस को इसकी जानकारी होने के बाद कौशांबी में उसकी गाड़ी रोक ली गई।
पुलिस ने वाहन की तलाशी ली और अहजम से पूछताछ की। बताया गया कि पूछताछ के दौरान अहजम ने पुलिस को बताया कि उसे जानकारी मिली थी कि अली को जेल से प्रयागराज लाया जा रहा है, इसलिए वह काफिले के पीछे चल रहा था।
पुलिस ने उसे आगे के काफिले का पीछा न करने की हिदायत दी।
तीन साल पुराना है रंगदारी का मामला
जिस मामले में अली की सोमवार को पेशी हुई, वह वर्ष 2023 में दर्ज किया गया था। प्रयागराज के करेली थाने में पांच लोगों के खिलाफ एफआईआर दर्ज की गई थी, जिनमें अली अहमद भी शामिल था।
मामले में आरोप लगाया गया है कि अली के निर्देश पर उसके कथित सहयोगियों ने शिकायतकर्ता से 30 लाख रुपये की रंगदारी मांगी थी।
शिकायत में यह भी आरोप लगाया गया कि पीड़ित से जबरन खाली स्टांप पेपर पर हस्ताक्षर कराए गए और उसके साथ मारपीट की गई।
ये आरोप अभी न्यायिक प्रक्रिया के अधीन हैं और अदालत में मामले की सुनवाई के दौरान इनके संबंध में आगे की कार्रवाई होनी है।
भाई अबान की मौत के बाद पैरोल पर प्रयागराज आया था अली
अली की सोमवार की पेशी ऐसे समय हुई है जब कुछ सप्ताह पहले ही वह अपने छोटे भाई अबान अहमद के अंतिम संस्कार में शामिल होने के लिए पैरोल पर प्रयागराज आया था।
अबान की 6 अगस्त 2026 को झांसी में सड़क हादसे में मौत हो गई थी। पुलिस के अनुसार वह जिस वाहन में सवार था, वह झांसी जिले के पूंछ क्षेत्र में सड़क के डिवाइडर से टकरा गया था।
बताया गया था कि अबान अपने बड़े भाई अली से मिलने के लिए झांसी जा रहा था, जो उस समय झांसी जेल में बंद था।
हादसे में अबान के एक दोस्त की भी मौत हुई थी, जबकि वाहन में सवार अन्य लोग घायल हुए थे।
अबान की मौत के बाद इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने अली और उसके भाई उमर अहमद को पुलिस सुरक्षा में अंतिम संस्कार में शामिल होने की अनुमति दी थी। अंतिम संस्कार की प्रक्रिया पूरी होने के बाद दोनों को वापस जेल ले जाया गया।
अदालत परिसर में कड़ी सुरक्षा
अली की पेशी को देखते हुए अदालत परिसर और उसके आसपास व्यापक सुरक्षा व्यवस्था की गई थी। पुलिसकर्मियों को अदालत के अंदर, बाहर और जेल वाहन के आने-जाने वाले मार्ग पर तैनात किया गया था।
अदालत की कार्यवाही समाप्त होने के बाद अली को सीधे पुलिस वाहन में बैठाया गया और मीडिया से बातचीत का मौका नहीं दिया गया। इसके बाद तीन वाहनों का पुलिस काफिला उसे लेकर झांसी के लिए रवाना हो गया।
मामला अब न्यायिक प्रक्रिया के तहत आगे बढ़ेगा और अदालत में दर्ज बयानों तथा उपलब्ध साक्ष्यों के आधार पर आगे की कार्यवाही होगी।
