Ayodhya Ram Mandir Donation Row: FIR Registered Against Eight Over Alleged Irregularities in Cash and Jewellery
An FIR has been registered against eight individuals in connection with alleged irregularities involving donations received at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Significantly, the complaint was lodged by a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust itself, indicating that concerns over the handling of temple donations have now reached the trust’s own administration.
The police case was filed just two days after the Special Investigation Team (SIT), constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government to examine the alleged financial irregularities, submitted its preliminary investigation report to the state government.
The development has intensified scrutiny of the trust’s financial management and the system used to account for offerings made by devotees.
The allegations primarily relate to claims that cash and jewellery donated by devotees at the Ram Temple were not properly recorded or accounted for. Investigators are expected to examine whether there were lapses in maintaining donation records, inventory management and financial accounting procedures while handling contributions received at the temple.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was established on February 5, 2020, following the Supreme Court’s landmark verdict that paved the way for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Since its formation, the trust is estimated to have received nearly ₹3,500 crore in cash donations, apart from substantial offerings in the form of jewellery and other valuable items contributed by devotees from across the country and abroad.

अयोध्या स्थित राम मंदिर में श्रद्धालुओं द्वारा चढ़ाए गए दान में कथित अनियमितताओं के मामले में आठ लोगों के खिलाफ एफआईआर दर्ज की गई है। खास बात यह है कि यह शिकायत श्रीराम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट के ही एक सदस्य द्वारा दर्ज कराई गई है। इससे यह संकेत मिलता है कि मंदिर में प्राप्त दान के प्रबंधन और लेखा-जोखा को लेकर उठे सवाल अब ट्रस्ट के भीतर भी गंभीर चिंता का विषय बन गए हैं।
यह पुलिस मामला उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा गठित विशेष जांच दल (एसआईटी) की प्रारंभिक जांच रिपोर्ट सरकार को सौंपे जाने के महज दो दिन बाद दर्ज किया गया। एसआईटी का गठन मंदिर में प्राप्त दान में कथित वित्तीय अनियमितताओं की जांच के लिए किया गया था। एफआईआर दर्ज होने के बाद ट्रस्ट की वित्तीय व्यवस्था और दान प्रबंधन प्रणाली पर जांच और भी तेज होने की संभावना है।
आरोपों का केंद्र उन नकद राशि और आभूषणों को लेकर है, जो श्रद्धालुओं द्वारा राम मंदिर में दान स्वरूप चढ़ाए गए थे। आरोप है कि इन दानों का पूरा और व्यवस्थित लेखा-जोखा उपलब्ध नहीं है। जांच एजेंसियां अब यह पता लगाएंगी कि दान के रिकॉर्ड, स्टॉक रजिस्टर और वित्तीय लेखांकन प्रणाली में कहीं कोई लापरवाही या अनियमितता तो नहीं हुई।
श्रीराम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र ट्रस्ट का गठन 5 फरवरी 2020 को सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के ऐतिहासिक फैसले के बाद किया गया था, जिसने अयोध्या में राम मंदिर निर्माण का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया। ट्रस्ट के गठन के बाद से अब तक उसे केवल नकद दान के रूप में लगभग 3,500 करोड़ रुपये प्राप्त होने का अनुमान है। इसके अतिरिक्त देश और विदेश से आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं ने बड़ी मात्रा में आभूषण तथा अन्य बहुमूल्य वस्तुएं भी मंदिर में भेंट स्वरूप अर्पित की हैं।
