Centre Opens Dialogue with Cockroach Janta Party as JP Nadda Meets Protest Leaders Amid ‘Chalo Sansad’ March
New Delhi: The Centre on Monday initiated its first formal dialogue with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) after weeks of escalating protests, with Union Health Minister and BJP National President J.P. Nadda meeting representatives of the organisation amid its ‘Chalo Sansad’ march in the national capital.
While the government appealed to the protesters to end their agitation, the CJP said no assurance had been given beyond a promise to consult the BJP leadership.
Sharing details of the meeting, Nadda said the initiative for talks had come from the protesters.
He stated that discussions began at 11.50 am, marking the first direct communication between the government and the protestors since the agitation gathered momentum.
Describing the interaction as constructive and cordial, Nadda said extensive discussions were held with the delegation, which also submitted a written memorandum outlining its demands.
According to him, the memorandum was handed over at around 4 pm, after which he urged the protesters to withdraw their sit-in and cooperate with the authorities to facilitate a peaceful resolution.
Following the meeting, CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the delegation had reached Nadda’s residence around noon and met him at approximately 2.15 pm.
He said three principal demands were placed before the Union minister.
According to Ranka, the first demand was the immediate release of Sonam Wangchuk along with permission for him to address the public through a video message.
The second sought the removal or resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, whom the organisation accused of failing to address issues in the education system.
The third demanded ₹1 crore as compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy.
Ranka said a second round of discussions took place at around 4 pm, during which Nadda informed the delegation that the demands would be placed before the senior leadership of the BJP for consideration.
He said the government would communicate its decision after internal consultations.
When asked whether the meeting resulted in any concrete commitment, Ranka clarified that no specific assurance had been given.
He said the only response from Nadda was that the matter would be discussed with the party’s senior leadership and the outcome would be conveyed to the organisation at the earliest.
The meeting marked the first official engagement between the Centre and the Cockroach Janta Party since the protest movement intensified.
According to CJP leaders, the delegation submitted a detailed charter of demands and agreed to await the government’s response before deciding on its next course of action.
The dialogue took place even as thousands of CJP supporters continued their ‘Chalo Sansad’ march towards Parliament, demanding reforms in the examination system and seeking the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The protest led to extensive security arrangements, barricading, police action, detentions and traffic disruptions across several parts of Delhi.
Representing the organisation at the meeting were Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who met Nadda at his residence after, according to the CJP, the government reached out earlier in the day to initiate negotiations.
Before leaving for the meeting, Saurav Das posted on social media platform X that he and Ashutosh Ranka were heading to meet J.P. Nadda on behalf of the Cockroach Janta Party.
He said the government had invited the organisation for talks and asserted that the group’s demands remained unchanged, adding that thousands of young people had joined the movement seeking accountability and reforms.
‘चलो संसद’ मार्च के बीच सरकार और कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी में पहली औपचारिक वार्ता, जेपी नड्डा से मिले आंदोलनकारी
नई दिल्ली: राजधानी में जारी ‘चलो संसद’ मार्च के बीच केंद्र सरकार और कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (सीजेपी) के बीच सोमवार को पहली औपचारिक वार्ता हुई।
केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री एवं भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष जे.पी. नड्डा ने संगठन के प्रतिनिधियों से मुलाकात कर उनकी मांगों पर चर्चा की।
बैठक के बाद सरकार ने प्रदर्शन समाप्त करने की अपील की, जबकि सीजेपी नेताओं ने कहा कि उन्हें केवल इतना आश्वासन मिला है कि उनकी मांगों पर भाजपा का शीर्ष नेतृत्व विचार करेगा।
बैठक की जानकारी साझा करते हुए नड्डा ने कहा कि वार्ता का प्रस्ताव पहली बार प्रदर्शनकारियों की ओर से आया। उन्होंने बताया कि सुबह 11 बजकर 50 मिनट से दोनों पक्षों के बीच बातचीत शुरू हुई, जो आंदोलन के तेज होने के बाद सरकार और प्रदर्शनकारियों के बीच पहली प्रत्यक्ष बातचीत थी।
नड्डा ने कहा कि बातचीत सौहार्दपूर्ण माहौल में हुई और प्रतिनिधिमंडल के साथ सभी मुद्दों पर विस्तार से चर्चा की गई। उन्होंने बताया कि सीजेपी ने अपनी मांगों का एक लिखित ज्ञापन भी सौंपा, जो उन्हें लगभग शाम 4 बजे प्राप्त हुआ।
बैठक के दौरान उन्होंने आंदोलनकारियों से धरना समाप्त कर प्रशासन के साथ सहयोग करने की अपील भी की।
बैठक के बाद सीजेपी के प्रवक्ता आशुतोष रांका ने बताया कि प्रतिनिधिमंडल दोपहर करीब 12 बजे नड्डा के आवास पहुंचा और लगभग 2 बजकर 15 मिनट पर उनसे मुलाकात हुई। उन्होंने कहा कि संगठन की ओर से तीन प्रमुख मांगें उनके सामने रखी गईं।
रांका के अनुसार पहली मांग सोनम वांगचुक की तत्काल रिहाई और उन्हें वीडियो संदेश के माध्यम से जनता को संबोधित करने की अनुमति देने की थी।
दूसरी मांग केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान को तत्काल पद से हटाने अथवा उनका इस्तीफा स्वीकार करने की थी।
तीसरी मांग नीट प्रश्नपत्र लीक प्रकरण के बाद कथित रूप से आत्महत्या करने वाले छात्रों के परिवारों को एक-एक करोड़ रुपये का मुआवजा देने की थी।
उन्होंने बताया कि शाम चार बजे हुई दूसरी बैठक में जे.पी. नड्डा ने कहा कि इन मांगों पर भाजपा के शीर्ष नेतृत्व के साथ चर्चा की जाएगी और उसके बाद निर्णय से संगठन को अवगत कराया जाएगा।
जब उनसे पूछा गया कि क्या सरकार की ओर से कोई ठोस आश्वासन मिला है, तो रांका ने स्पष्ट किया कि उन्हें केवल यही भरोसा दिया गया कि मामला वरिष्ठ नेतृत्व के समक्ष रखा जाएगा और जो भी निर्णय होगा, उसकी सूचना जल्द ही संगठन को दी जाएगी।
यह बैठक आंदोलन शुरू होने के बाद केंद्र सरकार और कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी के बीच पहली औपचारिक बातचीत मानी जा रही है।
संगठन के नेताओं ने बताया कि उन्होंने सरकार को अपनी मांगों का विस्तृत ज्ञापन सौंप दिया है और अब वे सरकार के जवाब का इंतजार करेंगे।
यह वार्ता ऐसे समय हुई जब सीजेपी के हजारों समर्थक ‘चलो संसद’ मार्च के तहत संसद की ओर बढ़ रहे थे। प्रदर्शनकारी देश की परीक्षा प्रणाली में सुधार और केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की मांग कर रहे हैं।
आंदोलन के कारण राजधानी के कई हिस्सों में भारी पुलिस बल की तैनाती, बैरिकेडिंग, हिरासत, लाठीचार्ज और यातायात बाधित होने जैसी स्थिति देखने को मिली।
संगठन की ओर से सौरव दास और आशुतोष रांका ने जे.पी. नड्डा से उनके आवास पर मुलाकात की। सीजेपी का दावा है कि वार्ता की पहल सोमवार सुबह सरकार की ओर से की गई थी।
बैठक के लिए रवाना होने से पहले सौरव दास ने सोशल मीडिया मंच एक्स पर लिखा कि वह और आशुतोष रांका कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी की ओर से जे.पी. नड्डा से मिलने जा रहे हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने बातचीत के लिए संपर्क किया है और संगठन अपनी मांगों पर कायम है। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि बड़ी संख्या में युवा आंदोलन से जुड़ चुके हैं और वे जवाबदेही तथा परीक्षा व्यवस्था में व्यापक सुधार की मांग कर रहे हैं।
