Centre Seeks More Time on Dharmendra Pradhan Resignation Demand as CJP, Government Hold Second Round of Talks
New Delhi: The Abhijeet Dipke-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Friday claimed that the Union Government has sought additional time until Saturday afternoon to consider its principal demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The development came after the second round of discussions between CJP representatives and senior ministers amid the continuing nationwide agitation over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations.
Representatives of the student movement held nearly a two-hour meeting with Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh at a time when protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar continued to gather momentum.
The discussions centred on allegations of examination malpractice, particularly the controversy surrounding the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, along with broader issues concerning transparency and accountability in the examination system.
Following the meeting, CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka told reporters that the government had requested time until Saturday afternoon before responding to the demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.
He expressed optimism that the Centre would take a favourable decision and remove the Education Minister after completing internal consultations.
Ranka further stated that the ministers informed the delegation that the demand for the minister’s resignation would be placed before Prime Minister Narendra Modi for consideration and that a decision was expected shortly after further deliberations.
Apart from seeking the Education Minister’s removal, the CJP reiterated two additional demands during the meeting.
The organisation called for financial assistance of ₹1 crore to the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the cancellation of the NEET examination held on May 3.
It also demanded that criminal cases registered against protesting students be withdrawn.
In a statement posted on social media platform X after the discussions, the CJP claimed that the Centre had shown a positive approach towards providing compensation to affected families and withdrawing FIRs lodged against protesters.
However, the organisation maintained that it would not withdraw its agitation unless the government also accepted its demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. According to the statement, the Centre had been given 24 hours to respond.
Speaking after the meeting, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda confirmed that the government had listened to the delegation’s concerns and assured them that the discussions would continue.
He said both sides would meet again on Saturday after the government completed consultations on the issues raised.
Nadda said the delegation had placed three principal demands before the government, besides presenting five recommendations aimed at improving the examination system.
He added that the government intended to hold internal discussions before conveying its considered response during the next round of talks.
Meanwhile, people familiar with the deliberations indicated that the government had not offered any formal assurances during Friday’s meeting.
According to them, the issues relating to compensation for affected families and withdrawal of legal cases against protesters would be examined further before any decision was taken.
A senior leader associated with the discussions cautioned against reading too much into the decision to hold another meeting on Saturday.
The leader said the government’s willingness to continue dialogue should be viewed as an effort to address concerns related to examination reforms rather than as a commitment to accept every demand placed before it.
He added that constructive discussions should remain focused on improving the system rather than becoming matters of political prestige.
धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की मांग पर केंद्र ने मांगा और समय, सीजेपी और सरकार के बीच दूसरे दौर की वार्ता
नई दिल्ली: अभिजीत दिपके के नेतृत्व वाली कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (सीजेपी) ने शुक्रवार को दावा किया कि केंद्र सरकार ने केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की उसकी प्रमुख मांग पर विचार करने के लिए शनिवार दोपहर तक का समय मांगा है।
यह दावा उस समय सामने आया जब परीक्षा संबंधी कथित अनियमितताओं को लेकर जारी आंदोलन के बीच सरकार और सीजेपी के बीच दूसरे दौर की वार्ता सम्पन्न हुई।
दिल्ली के जंतर-मंतर पर जारी प्रदर्शन के बीच सीजेपी के प्रतिनिधियों ने केंद्रीय मंत्रियों जे.पी. नड्डा और जितेंद्र सिंह के साथ लगभग दो घंटे तक विस्तृत बातचीत की।
बैठक में विशेष रूप से नीट-यूजी परीक्षा में कथित प्रश्नपत्र लीक तथा राष्ट्रीय स्तर की परीक्षाओं में पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही और सुधार से जुड़े मुद्दों पर चर्चा हुई।
बैठक के बाद सीजेपी के राष्ट्रीय प्रवक्ता आशुतोष रांका ने पत्रकारों को बताया कि सरकार ने शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की मांग पर जवाब देने के लिए शनिवार दोपहर तक का समय मांगा है।
उन्होंने उम्मीद जताई कि सरकार सकारात्मक निर्णय लेते हुए शिक्षा मंत्री को पद से हटाने का फैसला करेगी।
रांका ने यह भी कहा कि सरकार की ओर से प्रतिनिधिमंडल को बताया गया है कि उनकी मांग प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के समक्ष रखी जाएगी और विचार-विमर्श के बाद जल्द ही इस पर निर्णय लिया जाएगा।
शिक्षा मंत्री के इस्तीफे की मांग के अलावा सीजेपी ने अपनी दो अन्य प्रमुख मांगें भी दोहराईं।
संगठन ने तीन मई को रद्द की गई नीट परीक्षा के बाद कथित रूप से आत्महत्या करने वाले छात्रों के परिवारों को एक-एक करोड़ रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता देने तथा आंदोलन में शामिल छात्रों के खिलाफ दर्ज सभी प्राथमिकी वापस लेने की मांग की।
बैठक के बाद सोशल मीडिया मंच ‘एक्स’ पर जारी बयान में सीजेपी ने दावा किया कि केंद्र सरकार ने मृतक छात्रों के परिवारों को मुआवजा देने और प्रदर्शनकारियों पर दर्ज एफआईआर वापस लेने के मुद्दे पर सकारात्मक रुख दिखाया है।
हालांकि संगठन ने स्पष्ट किया कि धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की मांग पूरी हुए बिना आंदोलन समाप्त नहीं किया जाएगा। सीजेपी ने कहा कि इस संबंध में सरकार को 24 घंटे का समय दिया गया है।
बैठक के बाद केंद्रीय मंत्री जे.पी. नड्डा ने कहा कि सरकार ने प्रतिनिधिमंडल की सभी मांगों को गंभीरता से सुना है और उन पर विचार-विमर्श के बाद शनिवार को फिर से बैठक होगी। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार अगले दौर की वार्ता में अपने विचार साझा करेगी।
नड्डा ने बताया कि प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने सरकार के समक्ष तीन प्रमुख मांगें रखीं, साथ ही परीक्षा प्रणाली में सुधार के लिए पांच सुझाव भी दिए।
उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार इन सभी बिंदुओं पर आंतरिक स्तर पर चर्चा करने के बाद अपना विस्तृत रुख स्पष्ट करेगी।
उधर, वार्ता की जानकारी रखने वाले सूत्रों का कहना है कि शुक्रवार की बैठक में सरकार की ओर से किसी भी मांग पर औपचारिक आश्वासन नहीं दिया गया।
सूत्रों के अनुसार, मुआवजे और प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ दर्ज मामलों को वापस लेने जैसे मुद्दों पर अभी केवल विचार करने की बात कही गई है।
चर्चा से जुड़े एक वरिष्ठ नेता ने कहा कि शनिवार को दोबारा बैठक होने के निर्णय का कोई पूर्वानुमान नहीं लगाया जाना चाहिए।
उनके अनुसार, सरकार परीक्षा प्रणाली में सुधार से जुड़े सुझावों पर गंभीरता से विचार करना चाहती है और संवाद का उद्देश्य समाधान तलाशना है, न कि इसे राजनीतिक प्रतिष्ठा का विषय बनाना।
